I don't have momentally fuel consumption on my on board computer. I have new Logan Laureate Plus with full equipment. If anybody knows why I don't have this option? I've heard because this option (instant) fuel consumption is removed in new logan collection, but do anybody knows can I restore this function - probably by connecting PCB on COM port with other PC and update the software. Other way I have for an week dacia logan laureate fully equiped and I'm satisfy with him (for the money it's worth). This post has been edited by jovanmk: 31 Dec 2006, 23:49

Just press the button on the end of your Windscreen wiper Stick and you will see it change through all of the OBC settings

As far as I know, for the Logan "new collection" the onboard computer does not show any more the instant consumption.

Lets not forget that the Instant consumption only shows when the Vehicle is moving

The trip computer on the new Logan does not show instant fuel consumption. If it would have instant fuel consumption then it would only show it when your driving faster than 30 km/h.

I think that is Stupid of Daciai to do that What is the use of an OBC that does not cover everything

elk84 - there is no official statement from Dacia regarding this...

... the unofficial explanation is that they concluded that it had to be removed because of the large number of complaints regarding "very high fuel consumption, up to 25 l / 100 km". And they removed it because there was a large number of morons that could not tell the difference between "average fuel consumption" and "momentarily fuel consumption".

I can thrash my Logon on a real steep hill and not get over a 11 ltrs
reading. It shows everything on the OBC and is very accurate .But the Speedo is not

New Logan (2007) doesn't show instant consumption. Mine, at least. You can read in Manual that some cars have this option, not all.

But, as I has said in topic "Logan owner problems", sometimes average fuel consumption goes crazy and starts showing reads that seems to be instant fuel consumption. I don't know why or which or when something happens to make on board computer go crazy.

Somebody knows?

When average fuel consumption goes crazy and starts showing reads very high car is stopped, when you run, reads go down.

Then it is Knackered because it should show 0 0 when the car is stopped
so if it is under warranty take it back

Maybe the problem is caused by resetting the OBC too often, then it actually serves as an instant consumption indicator, untill it averages sufficiently! And yes, it changes reading even when car is stopped if the engine is running - time is running, engine is burning fuel, but the road is standing, so your consumption indication gets worse and worse !

It will show NO reading when the motor is on Tickover

OK folks, here we go again...

On the Logans with OBC that has the "instant consumption" feature: it will display a value only if speed is greater than 30 kph. On idle it shows "- - -".

The average consumption will be calculated and displayed (after a reset) after the car has been travelling over 450 meters. Longer periods of time between resets will increase the accuracy of the average consumption. When idling the value of the average consumption will increase. (the average fuel consumption is calculated in liters per 100 km so if you stay at idle the car will burn fuel but will be going nowhere so the numbers will go up)

Many new owners of Dacia, noticed that the actual fuel-consumption is no longer on the OBC . If you have bought the car somewhere between the end of 2006 and end of january 2007 , by that time Dacia still showed in their brochures that this option was on the OBC. But thats not what you actualy get!! In February Dacia changed their brochures!! So every-one who bought a car in that period, should complain. As a result of complaining some guys in the Netherlands got a assesoir-cheque of 250 Euros offered by Dacia-Netherland for compensation!! I tried yesterday, untill now without any result...Still hoping that I can get the same compensation.

I have found following information about some kind of diagnostic (or it looks like):

Dacă numai indicaţia de autonomie carburant este
înlocuită cu liniuţe clipitoare şi dacă martorul luminos
pentru alertă nivel minim de carburant se aprinde,
aceasta indică un defect al informaţiei jojă timp de mai
mult de 100 s consecutive.
Dacă defectul dispare, martorul luminos pentru alertă
nivel minim de carburant se stinge şi segmentele
indicatorului de carburant urcă (exceptând cazul în
care nivelul de carburant este la minim).
În plus faţă de semnalarea unui defect prin clipirea
afişajului sau disfuncţionarea segmentelor
receptorului, calculatorul de bord păstrează pana în
memorie nevolatilizată.
În aceste cazuri diferite, procedaţi la secvenţa
diagnosticare pentru a vizualiza memorarea penelor
senzori.
Calculatorul de bord prezintă un program de test
(secvenţă diagnosticare):
- a diferitelor segmente ale afişajului,
- a senzorilor utilizaţi (jojă carburant, informaţie debit).

2 - Secvenţă diagnosticare
Pentru a avea acces la secvenţa diagnosticare,
menţineţi apăsată tasta « ADAC » în capătul manetei
ştergătorului de geam şi puneţi contactul fără să porniţi
motorul.
În timpul întregului mod diagnosticare, acul
indicatorului de viteză baleiază cadranul său pentru
vitezele 10, 50, 90, 130, 170 km/h.
În acelaşi fel şi în acelaşi timp, acul indicatorului de
turaţie motor baleiază cadranul său pentru turaţiile de
1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000, 7000 rot/min.
Aceste două baleieri se efectuează periodic prin salt în
fiecare secundă în sens crescător, apoi în sens
descrescător.
Testul afişaj cu cristale lichide apare (L).
Toate segmentele afişajului cu cristale lichide trebuie
să fie aprinse.
Pentru a trece la următorul test, apăsaţi pe tasta (1).
Testul cantitate de carburant rămas în rezervor
apare (K).
Valoarea afişată trebuie să corespundă cantităţii de
carburant rămas în rezervor în litri.
Pentru a trece la următorul test, apăsaţi pe tasta (1).
Testul debit de carburant în litri/oră apare (motor pornit)
(J) (versiune « ADAC »).
Valoarea trebuie să fie afişată cu motorul pornit.

It says that if you want to enter diagnose mode:

push the buton on the windscreen wiper before you turn the key.
While pushing the button, turn the key but do not start the car.
The computer goes in diagnose mode. The needles start moving gradually, and the screen shows some information.
By pushing the same button repeatedly you can set the computer to show the actual gas in the tank (in Litres) and after that the hourly fuel consomption.

That's it.

To stop the diagnose just turn back the key.

The first part says something about the screen flickering to show that there is an error somewhere, and that the error is saved in a nonvolatile memory and can be seen afterwards. I don't know if the the error can be seen in the diagnose mode described above or only if you use the special diagnose program and a Laptop.
