What is 'a Kitsch'?!?

Posted by: Liv05 2 Jan 2007, 12:58

Kitsch is a German term that has been used to categorize art that is considered an inferior copy of an existing style. The term is also used more loosely in referring to any art that is pretentious or in bad taste, and also commercially produced items that are considered trite or crass.

Interesting leather... too many speakers and so on ...

Posted by: Asi 2 Jan 2007, 17:13

i doubt very much it is leather. i think it's some kind of vynil or other sintetic rubber leather imitation.

Hello!

I have noticed that you have Marangoni Zeta Linea tyres.

Can you tell me how are you satisfied because I'm planing to mount new tyres. I'm thinking between Marangoni Vanto (well not Zeta Linea) and Nokian NRHi.

Thanks

Posted by: Bettinger 2 Mar 2007, 10:05

I must admit that I bought the Marangoni tyres because of their moderate prize. But after one year I would buy them again. The noise level is ok when driving and I'm very glad, that the wearout is low.

Posted by: Kits 6 Mar 2007, 22:52

@bettinger

how much did you pay for the rims and tires. they change the whole car. it looks much sportier, more stable.

did you modify the suspensions too? I think i saw they are 17 inches, isn't the car shaky withs these gorgeous wheels?

what other changes did you do to it? I'm sorry but I don't understand German...

congratulations.
what about the escapes? dou you have two of them or you just welded another exit?

Posted by: Bettinger 7 Mar 2007, 14:23

I had to pay about 1100 Euros for the rims and tires. And i think, that changed the whole car, too. The rims are 17 inches, correct. That had no negative influence on the driving behavior.
I lowered the car 45 mm by changing the springs. The suspension is the original one.

My exhaust system is a real two-escape-system. The company who sells that is called Napexx or Nappex, I'm not sure right now smile.gif

The next thing I want to change are the front lights. I'm very glad, that the Romanian Angel Eyes got the European E-Sign, so I can install them without problems. That looks like this:

Posted by: Kits 7 Mar 2007, 15:04

"That had no negative influence on the driving behavior."
on the contrary, I think it improved the driving behavior... anyway in Romania we have lots of potholes and kerbs to cope with so I would personally choose 16" rims. besides it is very probable to have problems with the cops here because of this. but yours looks fantastic.

you should buy first the tail lights. there are some nice ones on the market. the head lights look like not being finished because they have all the clear upper part.

anyway, don't invest too much in it beacause after all it is only a Dacia. I would change the wheels and the tail lights in case i would buy a Prestige version but i am waiting for a face lift or something.

Did you guys see the new Twingo? it is unbelievably qualitative especially for such a small car. i wish Dacia wuould use such materials on Logan.

Enjoy your cars!!!

Posted by: martin245 7 Mar 2007, 19:11

If Dacia used such materials on the logan it would cost more then a TWINGO

Just recently I noticed how a few Euros were saved in construction of the Logan...

There is no handle on the roof above the door on the driver side... biggrin.gif
I will not discuss is it needed or not! biggrin.gif I simply noticed... biggrin.gif

Stu

Do not make me go out now in the dark, let me browse thru the parking tomorow in the daylight, and hopefully I will name you more then just one biggrin.gif

Posted by: g100sic 29 Aug 2007, 13:58

So, after only a brief glance over the parking lot in front of my building (people started giving me strange looks, so I had to stop biggrin.gif), I found no less then 3 car models that do have a handle on the driver's side:
- Škoda Fabia,
- BMW, series 5 I think, there is no label,
- and of course, my good old Lada Samara, how could I have forgotten her biggrin.gif

Strange though, until Stu brought it up I didn't even think it was something unusual, but now I see it is a common practice to not put that handle, and Dacia is actually not an exempt.

Posted by: martin245 29 Aug 2007, 17:47

i cant figure out why we need a handel on the drivers side
my motherinlaw needs the one on the passengers side !!
I WORRY THAT SHE DOES NOT PULL THE ROOF IN WITH HER WEIGHT
LOL
Stu

Posted by: g100sic 5 Sep 2007, 23:53

I said I didn't want to be dragged into discussion about the necessity of those handles, but here is one democratic thought - AND WHY NOT?!? biggrin.gif

I mean, if someone put them there thinking it would be useful for the passengers, why wouldn't it be for the driver also, for the very same reasons (whatever they are)?!? biggrin.gif
In the light of the case of Stu's motherinlaw, there are also a LOT of overweight drivers too radmasa.gif

But now that Stu made me think, I remembered one use less for the handle on the driver's side - passengers are known to grab for it when they are scared by the way the driver drives, while by deffinition drivers don't need it for that purpose radmasa.gif Not that they couldn't use it, though... radmasa.gif That would make passengers scared even more, that's for sure! radmasa.gif

does that solve the problem?

With Dacia Sandero comes a new Dacia logo, and a new Dacia style. Here is a Logan facelift (and not only face wink.gif) in accordance with the new Dacia style!

Attached Image

Posted by: stajp 19 Jul 2008, 19:07

In Croatian newspapers the most important part of Logan facelift is - size. Because of new bumpers, Logan is now 3 to 4 cm longer! smile.gif

Posted by: g100sic 19 Jul 2008, 19:54

From what I've read, the most important element of the facelift may be size, but not of the car itself, but of the external mirrors, which were definitely not big enough on Logan (except on Prestige variant).

Posted by: heinz57g 19 Jul 2008, 20:36

>> the external mirrors, which were definitely not big enough on Logan

are you serious? what do you need them for? i have seen people doing their makeup in them, but i somehow
dont see you doing that. have you compared them to other cars, many of them which are same or smaller? for
a good joke, try a (new) Lada NIVA.

greetings - heinz -

Posted by: g100sic 20 Jul 2008, 10:44

Heinz, my first car was a Zastava/Fiat 750, which had no external mirror at all, then I had Zastava 101, which had only the left external mirror, and I got used to it... Then I had Lada Samara which had both external mirrors, and I got used to using both of them and almost forgot about internal mirror... Now I have Logan, which has both external mirrors and rear end almost like a van, and now I'm almost totally dependent on external mirrors!! biggrin.gif (when driving backwards, parking, etc., not for make-up wink.gif radmasa.gif)

Don't know about Lada Niva, but Samara's were bigger then Logan's... or maybe it was not about the size, maybe they were better shaped, anyway, they covered a bigger useful area.

Did you ever drive a Škoda Octavia or a Golf III?

I think Octavia is a nice car but you really don't see shit when you are driving it!

Compared to that Logan is fantastic, but I would also like bigger mirrors like on the Prestige version.
