Similar question, new plan: I will be in Bukarest next week. I found a dealer who has most parts for Dacia Nova 1600 I'm looking for. But some parts are still missing (crankshafts). And I would like to buy two used complete engines at a fair price. Before I start to search hundrets of junkyards - maybe You have a tip for me. Freaks or engine builders who are still in the old stuff.

Somehow it had become a longer trip. Arad-Timisoara-Sibiu-Ramnicu Valcea-Sibiu-Argisch-Pitesti-Bucuresti-Chisinau-Tiraspol-(Mariupol)-Tulcea (via Sakota/had to avoid Moldavian territory)-Galati-Focsani-Buzau-Brasov-Argisch-Sighisoara-Targu Mures-CluJ-Oradea.

Don't worry, I didn't do this trip only to find a few old car parts. I have been to Romania before but I did not know that it is the most interesting Country in Europe. And the Country with the fastest progress. Like the Wild West. Great experience. Great people - even the assholes are bigger than in other countries (I don't count the Czech tourists).

The parts: It's like I said - they are out there. And the Moose sleeps much better with enough 1600 stuff in the trunk.

The western countries are becoming more and more weird from day to day. Really strange. But in general You are not invited for lunch by people you've never seen befor. In Romania I was even invited by a gipsy because I said the rosegarden trimmed by his grandmother is beautiful. And nothing was stolen. On the other hand - if people in western countries enter a place close to you and you say "hello" they usually don't say somthing like "bljad" or ignore you. At the Moldovian border I saw a man shouting 10 minutes at the officer, because he didn't let him pass on the CD line. Then he tried to get in front of my car. Then he got out of his car again and went on shouting at the officer. Finally he drove his car back, because I offered him a good spanking.

those were the engines you bought or the fiat needs that many spares for a long trip ?

Great car, that Multi. If You are inside, you have a different view at it.I'm only bothered by one thing. The windows can not be opened completley. So I almost needed a new window. I learned not to disturb the Romanians while they pray.
