Checked it both ways, warm and cold (but certainly not with engine running), didn't notice significant difference.

I WOULD JUST KEEP MY EYE ON IT !!
IF IT STAYS AT THAT LEVEL THEN
IT COULD BE OK
BUT DO NOT LET IT DROP ANY LOWER

I FIND THAT IF YOU TRY AND KEEP THE MOTOR OIL ON MAX IT USES
OIL A LOT .BUT IF YOU KEEP IT IN THE MIDDLE OF MAX AND MIN
IT USES JUST ABOUT NOTHING
SO MAYBE THE POWER STEERING WORKS A BIT LIKE THAT
JUST MY THOUGHTS blink.gif

The car is in warranty and I already talked to the people from the service, so I will let a qualified mechanic look into it. They will also fill up the fluid. Of course I'm aware how serious this matter is, and I'll watch it closely myself also in the future.

BTW, power steering actually works like power brakes, its function is not lubrication (like the oil in the engine) but force ampliffication. so it should NEVER use the hydraulic fluid in normal operation. In power braking hydraulic circuit there might be a certain small drop of the level over time, as brake plates reduce their thickness due to wear and tear, so gradually more oil from the hydraulic circuit goes into cylinders of the brakes. But there should be no such wear in the power steering system. Only small variations of the level may be expected due to thermal expansion of the circuit elements - pipes, cylinders, etc.

This is just my educated guess, I hope I will know more tomorrow after visiting the service.

I went to the service yesterday, and after just a brief glance under the hood the mechanic said that some part in the hydraulic circuit (he called it automate) is defective. The part should arrive by Wednesday.

The question comes to my mind how common is this problem to Logan? Or is it just me being "lucky"...

I went to the service today, and they replaced a power steering pressure switch, probably due to leaking. They gave me no explanation, but I guess that was to be expected. I'll keep an eye on the fluid level for some time, though, just in case.

I did a stupid thing in Saturday! When I was entering the car I kicked the sensor that indicates if the door is open, and now the sensor is inside the car. Off course the open door led is always on now.

I'll try to get the sensor out somehow 052.gif

At the regular service I filed a request for replacement of the driving wheel in the warranty. There was a small crack in foam plastic cover on the back side of the wheel from the beginning, like there was a bubble inside, and over time this crack started getting bigger.

I also decided to file a request for replacement of the back windshield which also had one heater line broken from the very beginning.

Windshield glass will hopefully be replaced next week, and for a driving wheel I'll have to wait a couple of weeks.

Hi guys!
Had 50.000 km service today, had oil, oil filter and fuel filter changed, and that cost just about 100 E.
Mine LGN is in fine condition, apart from squeeking which comes from gear shifter when shifting in 1st and 2nd gear.
Any idea how to solve it? In service the've put some spray but no difference.

I had the same problem, squeeking only when shifting from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 1st. Greased in service and now it is OK. It took them some 1/2 hour to repair it.

You need to get beneath the car, and you'll notice for sure the place where you need to lubricate (where the gear shifter comes out). The lubricant's type is not so important, I guess, any lubricant that doesn't afect rubber, should be fine.
Sorry for my english, hope you understood...

Well. I first took off cover from gear shifter and dismantled white plastic ring to gain access to rubber sphere. Then greased it well with litium grease, and returned pieces. After that I laid under the car and greased with finger this rubber ring and with WD40 spray this joint as seen in picture. Suppose there is nothing more to grease, but it is still squeeking mad.gif

I had the same problem. On the first service after cca 1 year they said that I had some unwanted slack (or movement) of the gear shifter. They replaced the gear shifter without any charge and for two years the in no squeaking sound any more.

you have to disassemble everything there and lubricate it all, including the red bush, not only to spray with wd40 without unscrewing the bolt and the nut. To be use a no. 13 wrench for unscrewing.

The rear window glass was replaced yesterday, the new one looks spotless (and the heater "wires" now work all, of course).

But although they (the dealer) sent me to a specialized workshop, the work was done a bit sloppy. I couldn't see that until today, in the daylight. There is a leftover of the silicone glue visible over the edge all the way down the left side of the glass from the outside. I'll have to shave it myself, but I'll have to be very careful not to cut too deep, into the paint. I'll have to come up with the method that does not depend on my dexterity biggrin.gif

What really surprised me was how lightweight was the glass, compared for example to the regular household glass window.

Dear Friends,

Hi, I am a new member of this forum. Thanks from all active members, I found here a very nice place to discusse about Logan.
I have bought a Logan that is equipped with 1.6 16v (k4M) engine, recently. It is a very good car. But unfortunately it has some little problems. The main one is related to interrior light operation. It dosen't operate when I open the doors. When I set the switch of that on the left position, the light is always off (it is OK), when I set that on middle and right, the light is always on. You know that at the middle position it must be On when front doors opened. The push bottons of doors work properly, so I think there is a problem in wiring.
Would any one please send me the wiring diagram of Logan? The complete wiring diagram is appretiated, but if it is not possible in any reason, please provide me partial one or help me to solve my problem.

Thanks in advance.

Well......Some time after service and professional lubricating, squeeking in shifter stopped. tongue.gif

@ taba

In middle position interior light has dimm effect-it stays on some time (up to two minutes when engine is not running and up to 30 sec when engine is running) and then slowly turns off. Be patient and wait and watch, then tell us what is happening

I forgot to report, but some 10 days ago I finally had the driving wheel replaced. It took nearly a month and a half, but I suppose it took so long due to the Hollyday season.

Hopefully, it's the last thing I'll have to replace in the warranty, and I have some 10 months of it left smile.gif

(Salam Paykan (Thomas) aziz. Az lotfetoon mamnoonam. Behtarin salam haye garm man ra be hamsare geramitan beresanid.)

Hi dear Paykan. Finding new dear friends such you is very pleasured, specially it is very nice to hear your wife is from my country, Iran.
As you know, two major iranian car manufacturers, Iran Khodro and Pars Khodro (a branch of Saipa Corp.), have started the production of seven models of Logan L90 (named Tondar90 in Iran) since April 2007.
Before starting of mass production, they sold Tondar in advance at Mach 2007, and during one week (sold period) more than 75000 persons paid about half of its price to buy it.
Unfortunately, due to some technical problems, the manufacturers have not produce enough Tondars to give to all requesters yet. But they are trying to do this.
I was very locky taking my Tondar about 7 weeks ago, and I am very happy to own this intersting, comfort, powerful, and good car with reasonable price (about 11,000,000 Toman or 8400 Euroes).

Beside Pars Khodro, Iran khodro, and Renault Pars Co. (A joint venture company founded by Renault and those two iranian car manufacturers to provide them all parts of Logans), I have found a few iranian sites and weblogs that their members discussing about Tondar90(Logan) too (in Farsi language). They are:

1. http://www.tondar90.net (It is a new site that we have made it specially for discussions about Tondar90, recently.)

3. http://www.phallz.com/showthread.php?t=20429&page=1

4.http://www.ikco.com/persian/products/tondar.aspx (Special page for Tondar at Iran Khodro)
5.http://www.ikco.com/products/tondar.aspx (English page from Iran Khodro)

6.http://www.parskhodro.ir/product/logan/logan.htm (Special page for Logan at Pars Khodro)

Reault Pars Company:
7. http://www.renault.co.ir/ (Persian or Farsi Language)
8.http://www.renault.co.ir/?lang=en& (English Language)

I'm at your service and ready to answer your questions about Tondar and Iran.

Best regards
Taba

29 Jan 2008, 15:57:

Dear Kake:
I tested both the middle and right positions for interior light switch, unfortuantly even after 20 minutes the light didn't turn off. So I'm sure that something is wrong in wiring of my Logan.

Has anybody wiring diagram for Logan?

Another wonder! The boot light is a delayed light in my car. Is it normal in Logan? and if so, Why? what is it's application?
