After the success of Logan and Logan MCV, Dacia continues the renewal of its range and proposes on the market of the commercial vehicle Logan Van. Modern, robust and economic vehicle, Logan Van profit fully from the know-how of the Renault group as regards commercial vehicle.
Equipped of very competitive capacities of loading for his category, Logan Van naturally counts among his motorizations the diesel engine 1,5 dCi of Renault origin, true reference of the market. But the force of Logan Van lies above all in his tariff which establishes new standards in term of “price to the cubic meter”. It answers fully waitings of the craftsmen and tradesmen seeking a vehicle with the great capacity of carrying at the best price. Logan Van is available in Romania and Bulgaria as of today and will be launched on the other European markets of Dacia as from the third quarter 2007.


A robust design
Just like the other vehicles of the Logan family, Logan Van was developed to answer conditions of use very varied and often severe. Within the interior, the driver's cab and the orders are identical to Logan MCV. One finds the spirit of simplicity which characterizes the family Logan and the robustness of the materials which are employed.
Instrument panel, panels of doors, saddlery give an impression of solidity and will have an excellent behaviour in time, parameters important lorsqu `it S `acts of commercial vehicle. With the exterior, one finds the safety devices of all Logan: protection of sheets by wax injection in the hollow bodies, cementing the sealing systematic of the connections in outside cockpit or protection anti-gritting reinforced of the base. Logan Van also profits from the broad side trims of the doors inaugurated on Logan MCV.
Raised suspensions, ground clearance higher than the average, ski of protection under the power unit were also renewed on the utility version of the Logan station-wagon. In the same way concerning the new device of sealing with the dust of the gear box. Logan Van will be thus able, it also, of to face all highway types in the world.


Modern motorizations
Logan Van is equipped with the two motorizations gasoline 1,4 and 1,6 8 valves and with the diesel motorization 1,5 dCi, all exits of the bank D `body of the Renault group.
The engine 1.4 L develops a power of 55 kw (75 CH) with 5.500 tr/min and offers a couple of 112 Nm to 3.000 tr/min. The engine 1.6 L posts a power of 64 kw (90 CH) to 5.500 tr/min and a couple of 128 Nm with 3.000 tr/min. True reference in diesel term of motorization, the engine 1.5 dCi is with the point of technology. It is equipped of a resourcefulness direct injection common rail with second generation getting at the same time comfort, flexibility of use and very low consumption. With only 5,3 L to the 100 km and limited emissions of 140 CO2 g/km, Logan Van 1,5 dCi positions in a very competitive way among the other light vans diesel of the market. Compact, the engine 1,5 dCi is also characterized by its weak weight (127 kg in functioning order). Developing 50 KW (70 CH) with 4000 tr/min, it reaches a maximum couple of 160 Nm since 1700 tr/min, of which 85% are available between 1500 and 3500 tr/min. The mechanical gear box to 5 reports/ratios is lubricated with life. It profits of a development adapted with a staging of the reports/ratios allowing to exploit the couple of the engine fully 1,5 dCi. Startings and the recoveries are energetic, including when the vehicle is charged.
Lastly, its low fuel consumption associated with its reserve with 50 liters offers to Logan Van 1,5 dCi an autonomy of reference bordering the 1000 km.


Safety like precondition
Logan Van profits from the level of active and passive safety of his sister Logan MCV. Let us recall that all the Logan family is designed starting from the platform B of the alliance, which it also divides with Modus, CLIO II, CLIO III or Nissan Micra. The nose gear, drifted from that of CLIO II is of pseudo type Mac Pherson with triangulated arm and cradle tallies not filtered. The reinforced rear wheel-axle unit takes again the concept axle out of H with deformable profile and programmed diagram, common to the other vehicle of the platform. It is associated helical springs and vertical shock absorbers with race of suspension increased so to adapt the vehicle to the worst roads. Logan Van is thus provided, like his sister Logan MCV of side doors postpones of type VP (“particular vehicle”) on all the versions. These doors allow a broad access to L `space of loading on the right side like left side, which offers a greater versatility compared to a solution of the sliding door type on only one side. The interior panels of these doors are furnished with plastic protection.
With the back, one finds the 2 beating doors 1/3 2/3. Just like on Logan MCV, these two doors open according to 3 angles different of 40°, 90° or 180°, according to the needs and the nature of the loading. The angle of 40° will make easy of the loadings in constrained spaces, in a garage or lorsqu `another vehicle stations behind Logan Van. For the bulkiest loadings, angle of 180° which will be révèlera more adapted.


S `acting D `a commercial vehicle, the panes of the side doors postpones and of the beating doors back of Logan Van are covered with sheet metal, just as the panes of custode back. The cargo loading area remains thus perfectly protected and with L `shelter from the glances. All opening them underwent many tests of durability in order to S `ensure qu `they were adapted to a use of the utility type. Thus, the front doors were tested on cycles of 75.000 closings, the side doors postpones of 50.000 closings and the beating doors back of 100.000 closings. Tests which profited naturally also in Logan MCV.


A remarkable capacity of loading
As of its design, the structure of the case of Logan MCV and Logan Van was developed from a point of view as well VP as CONSIDERING. A simple and practical cargo loading area
Compared to Logan MCV, Logan Van lays out D `a floor specific in two parts assembled on a framework welded to the floor D `origin. Logan Van is manufactured with L `factory of Pitesti which assembles already Logan MCV. Also, L `industrial impact of L `arrived of Logan Van on the lines of Pitesti was tiny. The industrial investments, commun runs with Logan MCV and Logan Van, S `raise to 110 million D `euros for a ticket D `entered total of 154 million D `euros for the two models. The estimated output of Logan Van is of 200 vehicles day.


Light van among most economic of the market, proposing an excellent price ratio/capacity of loading, Logan Van, C `is also a simple and readable range. There exists in Romania and Bulgaria two levels D `equipment. The first level, “Logan”, can be associated the motorizations 1,4 MPI and 1,5 dCi presenting both a low cost D `use thanks to a consumption and costs D `maintenance reduced. The second level D `equipment, baptized “pack comfort”, can receive the 1,4 MPI, the 1,5 dCi but also the 1,6 MPI. It offers in series the power-assisted steering, the judgment centralized of opening and L `airbag conducting.

The speacial purpose is to cary goods not to race on the roads.
Maybe you will need to overtake this kind of car on the road.

ok, but if we look at renault kangoo for example, witch is a utility vehicle ,we can see that is no 1.4 8v engine present. We have only diesel power. I'm asking myself what fuel consume will be on 1.4 8v engine at full capacity of the car ?

In other countries, Spain, for example you can buy a kangoo combi or van with a 1.2 16v 75hp, and months later a 1.2 8v 60cv too.
Now because the Euro-4, Renault sells a new 1.5 dci with 60 (instead 1.9 D 55/65hp), 70 and 85 hp.
I agree wih you 75hp is insufficient for this vehicle, but is habitual brands sells utility vehicles with small power. I don't understand...

Hi I have driven just about everything BUT not Vans (we call them estate cars)
But I would say all the motors are ok you just pick out the one that suits your needs ie small family small motor ..Hauling heavy stuff around .Big Motor

i can hardly say that it's a van.
for me a van is something like Mercedes Sprinter, iveco daily, peageut boxer, VW transporter, Ford transit.. etc..
NOT kangoo, mcv without windows, or other estate/break/combi/touring car..

Different people have different definitions of what they "think" a van is.
Personally I think a van is: Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Caravan, Ford Windstar...

It's jean Claude VAN Damme. And Logan VAN is a shitty comercial vehicle with a rather small payload (they advertise 800 kg, but the homologation test have been done with 700kg. Get caught with 800 kg in the back and you get a rather large fine and you loose your registration).
And it's also very ugly!

if you buy a dacia, you could not expect to have good quality (refering to other brands), to be reliable, to have some real perfomance, or any other thing biggrin.gif , at least it could look nice!!

Well, so far 31 000 km and not a single problem. That's no better or worse than other cars in that class.

Two of my work colleagues had problems with brand new Opel cars, one of them had only TWO DAYS and it would not start because the fuel pump was dead.

If something like that happened to a Dacia everybody would say it because it's a Dacia, if it's an Opel they say "Shit happens!".

I don't think you are realistic, and so far Logan showed to be as reliable as the rest in that class of cars.

I totally agree with you ! I don't know what Dacia was in the "before Logan times" but I trust the Logan at least as much as a Renault because of this:

1.- In Spain Logan is offered with 3-years warranty ( Renault only two )
2.- All important Logan parts come from other Renault / Nissan car, which means they have been tested before
3.- Logan is badged and sold as Renault in many countries. Do you think they'd risk the brand's reputation if Logan was a shitty car ??

And we all have friends and acquintances who have expensive cars...with expensive problems, so..up the Logan !!

ok.. let me rephrase what i wanted to say:

dacia logan is not a shitty car bu t still it has no to none performance, it has no speed nor acceleration (comparing to other brands), suspension is quite odd (it's a blend between mc'pherson and a dumper truck.), the motor it's simplest type of multipointinjection.. (lack of performance). and confort and safety has no good marks.
if it is reliable.. things have changed indeed, in better, but still after 90000km i have change a lightbulb and rubber thing.. whatever
at a mercedes benz you will not replace the engeine only after 500000km to 4000000km (there are mercedes cars with even more km with the same original engein from the factory). and there are other cars to say "that is reliable !... " not dacia logan (it's a simple car and it should be more reliable.. and it is not.. how come?)


i had a dacia.. it was a decent car i could say. but i hated how all the time it needed tinkering at every minor detail... otherwise everyting falls apart. and logan... yes it is an improvment to solenza.. but even blindfolded I can sense the lack of quality.

What type of engine would you like to see in the Logan ???

it was a wonder and the driver will have died of old age it works out at around 1500km per day for 70 years radmasa.gif
Mcpherson is a type of suspension Strut http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacPherson_strut
and a Dumper truck is something you will only have seen and not driven blush.gif
I have driven a dumper truck a American Cummins powered 16 geared vehicle and it was very comfortable
So Asi next time you want to drag the Dacia name through the mud get your Facts right
