hello Romania!

I'm a renault enthousiast from Belgium and have been reading some topics.

I used to know a man from Hungary who told me he did a conversion on the C1J 1400 turbo engine from a renault 5. He told me he made it a 1600cc with only using parts from the nova gti.

Does anyone know it will fit? I should need the crankshaft, conrods and pistons from a 1600cc nova.

My friend from Romania who lives here can get the parts for me from Romania.

I know a dude called Muttley had a lot of info for the R18 but I hope he knows some from the C1J too.

Hello and welcome.
I'mnot expert but if you fit crankshaft, conrods and pistons you'll get a 10:1C.R.
You can find exemple of 1.4 block stroked like a 1.6.
For a turbo maybe you'll need better pistons and conrods.
Probably who used parts from Nova fit the cylinder head too.
I don't know if there are diffrences beetwen turbo pistons and N/A ones.
Maybe it was made using carnksfafth, conrods, head from nova and pistons from 1.4 turbo...
Anyway you must consider compressio ratio, think of chamber volume, pistons and conrods lenghts.
Today I discover a brazilian engine called CHT and it seems that they sell turbo kit.
I don't know much about that motor.
Bye.

thanks for the reply. I know compressionratio will need to go down. But I can fix that.

If I have the conrods and pistons I can still make them stronger by shotpeening. Pistons can be chopped off too. The head already had a lot of work on it. Maybe the head of the dacia is interesting.

Do you have picture from the head? Are intake and exhaust on the same side (like 5gtturbo)? or is it crossflowed(example intake on front of engine and exhaust on back of engine)

you think the crankshaft, pistons and conrods will fit on the R5 gtturbo engine? Thats the most important for me. To get it stronger and low compression is no problem for me.

thanks again!

Hello.
The head is uniflow.

Once upon a time I saw a picture of the 1.6 head, if I'mnot wrong the chamber shape is differnt from the 1.4 one.
Here I was explained how to build a 1.6 on the 1.4 block.
I don't know if there are other differences.
You know how to do the job, that's good.
Unfortunately I can't help you about the parts...
I hope that somebody here is able to answer your questions.
Probably the quality of the parts isn't always very good or not right for extreme tuning.
I think of pistons and standard valves.
I'm trying to fing a workshop manual but I can't.
Bye.
