As long as we are on the topic of manuals and documentation, I've got three little books with my car. One is the owners manual, and the other two are:

1. Waranty (Jamstva) First Edition, May, 2004.
2. Maintainance (Odrzavanje), Second edition, November, 2004

INTERVALS
The first one says that I'm supposed to go to the service every 10 000 km, (10k km, 20k km,....).
The second one says that I'm supposed to go to the service every 15 000 km or every year.

OIL CHANGING
1. book - every 10 000 km
2. book - after 30 000 km (they've been smoking something)

BRAKE PLATES (whatever the name is)
1. book - they chek them visually after 20 000 km
2. book - they chek them visually after every 15 000 km

AIR FILTER
1. book - changing after 20 000 km
2. book - changing after 30 000 km or 2 years

And so on, and so on.....

The best thing is that I've asked my authorised dealer and he doesent now what to do, so he is stamping both of the books, just in case.

A ridicilous situation. As long as I do everything I think should be done, and my dealer says that the waranty is valid I'm happy, but this is not a way for a serious company to do buisness.

They should stop smoking what ever they are smoking, and get serious.

EDIT:

As I said this topic got posted twice and I have no Idea why. Did not click the post button twice smile.gif

I bougt loggy in mid-march this year, and until now, i reached 10k km

here in serbia, first service is on 15k km but I insisted to get it on 10k km

i think that 15 k is very much for that ELF oil , 10k for syntetics is OK

I'm afraid not.

Butt I'll check again. As I said I've got three books with the car, and the one that is called "warranty" and the other that is called "maintainance" have different information.

Not even the guy in the service shop knew in which book he is suposed to put the stamp, so he has stamped both of the books.

I'll send an email to Dacia asking them which book is the righ one. I'm on cca 5000 km, theres still time.

I can tell you that in the Romanian manual is posted that the maintenance is done every 15000 km. However, it is stated that if mainly drive in a crowded city (massive traffic, a lot of stop & go ) it is recomended to change the oil every 7500 km. However, thir recommendation is not mandatory (reads "you will not lose warranty)

In Romania they use two type of so named "DACIAOIL" ... both semi-sinthetic oils... made by TEXACO ... SAE 5W30 (Acea1) and SAE 10W40 (Acea3)... the use of these motor oils is "recomanded" (please read this "mandatory") according Dacia in order to conserve the waranty... it is not a correct competitional behavior ... but.... they use some legal tricks wink.gif

Acctually at a 1000 km, but I've done it in a authorised Dacia service. I really don't know what was in before that, whatever they have put in in the factory.

OK, so I've finally called my dealer because I'm close to 10 000 km.

One of the books is wrong (tho one that says that the first service is on 10 000 km), the first service is on 15 000 km.
