Why is the Logan in Britain wearing Renault's sign???

Probably because in Britain, Logan is sold as Renault and not as Dacia, there are other countries where Logan is sold as Renault.

It also has a different wipers mechanism!!

The Logan is not YET being sold in Britain and the car in the photo is from France (numberplate)

In refference to the Renault logo, it might be just marketing.

Here in Europe

great Britain is NOT the only country with steering wheels on the right
The car will be made in India and I think they also have that
So it could be an Indian protype

as for the wipers !! Our wipers also need to be changed to the other side or the driver will only get a small area cleared

Renault is suprising me.
I mean, what type of masking is that. They've only cleared out rear body part (without: Logan, motor type, and Dacia symbol), and on front just put out that renault sign, and nothing else, I mean everybody can tell that that is a Logan!!!

I don't think the idea is or was to pass the Logan a different car.

The whole thing is a marketing decision depending on the country they are selling the car in.

1. Logan is made by Dacia which is owned by Renault therefor is made by Renault.
2. Logan is designed by Renault and not Dacia.
3. Logan is built by parts made in different countries and stored at CKD in Romania.
4. Logan is assembled in different countries under different marketing strategies with parts comming form the CKD Romania.

When it was launched for the first time it was launched as both Dacia and Renault and it doesn't matter since it's still called Logan. So you have Dacia Logan or Renault Logan with their respective logos and that's it. It goes by Renault where they want to use it to gain a foothold in new markets and it goes by Dacia where Renault already has a presence (so you won't compare Dacia with Renault since they are different brands).

I bet if it goes to UK it will go as Dacia and NOT Renault branding.

You can see the same thing happening to Daewoo Cielo/Nexia, Chevrolet Spark/Matiz, Chevrolet Kalos/Aveo. Opel Vectra goes by the alias Vauxhaul Vectra in UK and Austraila if I'm not mistaken and so on... It happened before ! Nothing new here...

I have heard that The logan will be made for the Uk market in India .I think they also drive on the right (or the middle)

In 2007 Dacia will start CKD prod. in India therefore I think it will be next year as well that they are going to start selling it in England.
