Mazda will call back some 29,000 examples of its slippery new Mazda6 sedan for a potential door handle fault that could cause them to open without warning. According to Automotive News, the outside handle can cause the door to open as a result of an "inconsistent dimension combination" between the bracket and the handle (read: they don't line up properly). The fix will involve replacing any/all door handles and/or brackets if they are found to be defective.

In other recall news:

    * Chrysler will recall 13,000 Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans over the possibility that unused connectors for the blind-spot detection system can corrode, leading to a possible vehicle fire. Affected vehicles will have the unused connector sealed and a fuse replaced.
    * Ford will recall some 11,000 units of their 2009 two-wheel drive Ranger pickups due to potentially faulty front wheel spindles. The spindles will be replaced at no cost to the owners.
    * General Motors will recall 8,000 G6 cars from the 2005-2006 model years over a corroded connector that could cause issues with the brake lamps, cruise control, and gearshift. The fix? A bit of good old-fashioned lubricant to prevent rust.
    * Ferrari will call back around 2,000 F430 Spyders to install a set of heat shields to protect some hydraulic hoses. As the story goes, the convertible top's hydraulic system may leak fluid, leading to smoking and burning.

In all cases, affected owners can expect to receive a letter warning them of the issue, urging them to schedule a no-charge service appointment with their local dealer.

Unul din acestea este si proaspata rechemare a 45.335 de modele Civic hibrid din cauza unor probleme electrice.

Ele se refera la defectiuni aparute la un transformator, acestea cauzand un scurt circuit ce are ca rezultat final oprirea motorului.

Din totalul masinilor rechemate, 31.123 de unitati au fost comercializate pe piata SUA si 7.219 pe cea japoneza, fiecare reparatie urmand a costa fabricantul japonez aproximativ 44 de $. Ceea ce inseamna un mizilic e 2 milioane de $ pentru intreaga operatiune.

Vehiculele in cauza au fost vandute drept modele ale anului 2006, fiind fabricate intre septembrie 2005 si septembrie 2006.

Nearly 31,000 Mazda CX-9 crossovers are being recalled to repair an issue with the driver's seat. Models affected were built during the 2007-2009 model years. According to Mazda North American Operations, improper routing of wires under the driver's seat cushion can lead to a short-circuit that activates the power-adjustment mechanism. This could lead to an inadvertent change in the seating position, height adjustment, or seat back recline while the vehicle is in motion. According to Mazda, dealers will be able to fix the potential problem with cable ties and replacement parts. Nu doar că există riscul ca maşina să ia foc, dar mai intră şi apă în ea. Într-un M-Class.

Ordinea evenimentelor ar fi totuşi alta. O izolaţie slabă la nivelul stopului central spate de la 16.130 de modele Mercedes Clasa M comercializate în SUA ar putea duce la intrarea apei în interior. Aceasta junge până în comportimentul roţii de rezervă, acolo unde se află unitatea de control pentru uşa portbagajului acţionată electric.

Iar acolo am putea asista la oprirea funcţionării sistemului sau chiar la un scurtcircuit ce se poate transforma într-un incendiu. Dealerii Mercedes vor rezolva această problemă gratis începând cu luna viitoare

Ford is recalling its popular Ford Territory to fix a potentially dangerous brake defect.

The recall affects 83,534 Territorys in Australia, 7739 in New Zealand, 3612 in South Africa and about 60 in Thailand and Brunei.
Details of the defect were uncovered by Carsguide after more than 15 customers reported brake failures to our Ask Smithy guru, Graham Smith.
The problem relates to the front brake hose, which can wear through, leading to leaking brake fluid that could render the brakes almost useless.

Volkswagen has two unrelated recalls underway, both for issues that pose safety risks. All 5,000 2008 R32s are being called home to replace a valve in the evaporative system. Left unchanged, the fuel tank vent valve may creep open when ambient temperatures are high, and driving conditions are just right. The misbehaving valve could lead to fuel winding up in the evaporative emissions system, possibly even getting into the charcoal canister, which could lead to driveability issues. The fix is a new valve, available at the VW dealer, free of charge.

The other recall involves nearly 6,000 CC models. A misrouted wiring harness related to the right front seat's seatbelt buckle could lead to wire damage. If the harness suffers damage, it will disable the passenger's airbag, while also lighting a warning lamp in the dash cluster. With a disabled airbag, crashes are potentially more injurious, so buyers are encouraged to head to the dealer, where they'll look for the problem and replace whatever parts are needed.

recall gm, ce implica 1.4 milioane de masini de la chevrolet, buick, oldsmobile si pontiac, cu probleme la motor ce pot provoca foc in compartimentul motor.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has just announced a major recall covering nearly 1.5 million General Motors passenger cars from the late 90's and early 2000s. The recall affects various Buick, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac models equipped with normally aspirated versions of GM's much-utilized 3800 3.8-liter V6.

Apparently, some of these engines can drop oil onto the exhaust manifold during hard braking. If that manifold has gotten hot enough and the oil dribbles below the heat shield, it can start a small fire. The flames can then engulf the plastic spark plug wire channel, potentially resulting in a full-on engine compartment fire.

The fix? Dealer service departments will be asked to remove said spark plug wire retention channel from the front of the engine bay, and then retrofit two new retainers.

A Ford acaba de anunciar um recall para os Focus 2005 a 2008 vendidos no Brasil, que tenham câmbio e piloto automático. O sistema tem um problema no cabo de controle do piloto automático, que poderia ocasionar uma interferência.

Essa interferência seria entre esse cabo e o sistema de acionamento do cabo do acelerador. Se acontecer esse problema entre os dois componentes, existe o risco de travamento do pedal do acelerador, não deixando de acelerar o carro mesmo com o motorista tirando o pé.

Isso poderia, é claro, ocasionar acidentes graves. O que será feito é a substituição do cabo de controle de velocidade do piloto automático. Essa troca pode ser agendada em qualquer uma das concessionárias da marca ou pelo telefone 0800 703 3673.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Hyundai have initiated recalls on 963,305 vehicles as part of four separate campaigns. The first recall, blanketing over one half million late-model vehicles, is nationwide. The other three recalls, all corrosion-related on older vehicles, are limited to the regions of the country where salt is used to de-ice roads in the winters.

The most widespread recall, affecting up to 531,894 2005-2008 Accent, Azera, Elantra, Entourage, Santa Fe, Sonata, Tucson, and Veracruz models, is NHTSA Campaign 09V122000. It is focused on a malfunctioning stop lamp switch that may prevent brake lights from illuminating when the pedal is depressed (the same switch may also cause them to stay lit after the brakes are released).

The second recall, affecting up to 175,765 1999-2004 Sonata, XG300, and XG350 models, is NHTSA Campaign 09V124000. That recall, limited to America's so-called "Salt Belt" states, is centered around potentially excessive corrosion of the front sub-frame due to winter road salt applications. If unnoticed, the lower control arm may separate from its mount.

The third recall, affecting up to 170,610 2001-2003 Elantra and Tiburon models, is NHTSA Campaign 09V125000. Also limited to the salt-belt states, the affected component is a failed lower control arm due to excessive corrosion.

The fourth recall, affecting up to 85,036 2001-2003 Santa Fe models, is NHTSA Campaign 09V123000. Again limited to to the Salt Belt states, the recall is centered around the possible internal corrosion of the rear trailing arms in the vehicle's suspension.

In all four recalls, Hyundai dealers will inspect, repair, and replace defective or damaged parts at no cost to the owner. In some situations, rust-proofing material will be added to chassis areas to arrest the corrosion process. Ce tare. Problema e prezenta la ambele versiuni (volan stanga si dreapta). Oarecum logic, dar e clar ca e problema de proiectare.

Le constructeur suédois dont l’une des parties de l’image de marque repose notamment sur la robustesse ou la fiabilité (sans oublier évidemment l’aspect sécurité) n’est pourtant et évidemment pas à l’abri de pépins techniques. Sa porte-parole, Maria Brohlin, annonce en effet que le constructeur doit procéder au rappel de plus de 20 000 voitures commercialisées sur le vieux continent.

Aucun incident ni accident ne sont à déplorer mais Volvo assure en rappelant 21 380 véhicules, tous diesel quatre cylindres produits en 2007, dispatchés entre le break V50, la berline S40 ou la compacte C30.

La raison de ce rappel est détaillée par la porte-parole de Volvo. “Il y a un module de contrôle dans le système de refroidissement et à cause d’un souci de fabrication de ce module, de l’eau peut entrer pouvant dans le pire des cas entraîner des courts-circuits“, explique Maria Brohlin. Les propriétaires seront avertis par courrier et invités à se rendre chez leur concessionnaire pour les réparations et diagnostics d’usage.

recall volvo s80 si xc70

A Volvo está convocando os proprietários dos modelos S80 2007 e XC70 2008 para realizarem a atualização do software do módulo central.

Esse sistema controla as funções dos limpadores de para-brisas destes modelos e podem apresentar funcionamento irregular ao comando do motorista.

A anomalia apresentada pelo sistema pode fazer o mesmo não funcionar em dias de chuva, podendo provocar um acidente.

No total são 46 unidades do S80 e 7 do XC70 que deverão comparecer urgentemente às revendas da marca sueca para essa atualização gratuita.

Esse é aquele tipo de recall que a montadora acha que nem deveria ser feito. Um problema na ponteira do escape não é nem de longe um problema de segurança sério. Mas, regras são regras, e por menor que o componente afetado seja, a montadora tem que trocar, sem cobrar nada.

Pior para a Toyota, melhor para o dono de um crossover Toyota Highlander 2008. Cerca de 40.000 unidades do modelo tem o problema na ponteira, acessório opcional instalado em concessionária, mas ao todo 121.000 proprietários serão chamados, por precaução.

A ponteira do escapamento tem defeito no material de construção, que poderia desenvolver micro-rachaduras, e cair no meio da rua.

Some Toyota Tundra owners are reportedly experiencing inordinately heavy amounts of premature rust, and they want the Japanese automaker to take action to address the problem. WCVB TV in Boston has been investigating the Toyota rust situation for about a year, and they're reporting that at least two dozen 2000-2001 Tundra owners have complained to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Owners of 1995-2001 Toyota pickups say their vehicles had inadequate corrosion protection, and many feel that the automaker should recall the vehicles.

When we mention excessive rust, we're not talking about some corroded quarter panels or a little dusting around the wheel wells. Drivers have complained of trucks so rusty that the frames are cracking, panels are falling off, and, in some cases, the trucks are too unsafe to drive. One owner is reportedly dealing with a power steering rack in need of repair, but the rust is so bad a new rack can't be bolted to the frame. The Boston TV station also investigated the smaller Tacoma for rust issues last year and found several frames that were disintegrating due to excessive corrosion.

For Toyota's part, the station reports that the automaker is buying back select models at 1.5 times their Blue Book value, but there are other truck owners who are still clamoring for resolution. The Japanese automaker says it is investing every case individually and that it's using lessons learned from the Tacoma incident to proactively investigate vehicles made with similar production techniques. posibil recall la mitsubishi outlander, peugeot 4007 si citroen c-crosser datorita unor probleme la sistemul de franare

Peu de détails concrets pour l’instant sur l’ampleur de la vague de rappel concernant le Peugeot 4007 (avis également aux propriétaires de Mitsubishi Outlander et de Citroën C-Crosser). Sont concernés les exemplaires dotés du moteur essence 2.4 l avec transmission à variation continue CVT.

Les véhicules produits entre le 23 octobre et le 4 décembre, aux numéros de châssis 8U907711 à 9Z950101, seraient victimes d’un problème de freinage.

Une valve défectueuse sur l’ensemble de sécurité pourrait, en cas de conditions climatiques extrêmes, pourrait fortement diminuer l’assistance au freinage. Comme de coutume, les propriétaires des véhicules en question seront avertis par courrier afin de procéder aux vérifications et réparations d’usage. Rien à signaler en France, le 4007 disposant du 2,2 HDi de 156 chevaux.
