I have noticed that the backrest of driver seat in my Logan ( height-adjustable seat) is not fixed (it is moving a liitle ) when I adjust height to lowest position!

It is quiet annoying when you are breaking and the backrest is moving. mad.gif

Did someone noticed this?

Are you sure that is really defective? I mean, are you sure that this problem is not present with other seats with height adjust!?

It does not matter if the seat is adjustable on height - the backrest should not move at all. So for your own safety go to service.

You should go to the service to solve your problem. I understood that there is a problem with a certain lot of Logans at the driver seet.

I'v visited main service in Belgrade. They ckecked driver seat and told me that maybe is the best to change seat ( only construction of seat, they are repacking it)
They are "trained" for this stuff but he was quiet sceptic about this.
ALSO!
This guy told me that, all seats are a little bit moving, that this is problem in almost all new Logans. Seat are soft and bad...... lalalalal etc.....

They do not have this type of seat. It must be ordered. That is no problem.

Well, after this I dont know what to do really, becasue I'm quiet afraid that even if new seat construction came, they "dont know" to do this well, and even they do it well, maybee it wont solve the problem. wacko.gif

So, in all new Logans seats are not good?

I've checked in my friends Logan and back rest of the seat could be moved some 1-2 centimeters (measured at the top of the seat) if moved by hand in front-back dirrection. I don't know if this is normal or this is that problem that you are talking about?

Well, really I dont know what to do about this problem.
In main service they told me that if I want, they could start warranty procedure with seat....as I told before.
But as I said

Replacing driver seat is one of the mos easiest things they could do to your car, have no worry, there is really nothing they could do wrong there. Replace it in warranty, it has a problem, the seat can be moved a little back and forward manual, but they never move when you hit the brake pedal or in any other case when you are sitting on it.

I'm aware of that! And, yes this mostly happens when I hit the brake pedal.

But also I'm sceptic, and afraid a little, because they are not changeing complete seat, but only its "construction".
And the guy in main service was pretty much sceptic about that they could do this "change" well.

He is the main one for problems like this, and he told me something like "well we are trained, but... we did not change any seat yet....seats are "bad''....bla,bla..."

Whatever, I will start warranty procedure 'asap' and I hope that the problem will disappear.

That is incredible, how come they can't change a seat because they haven't done it yet?
I've removed and re-added the seats myself. All you need is a "torx" screwdriver and quite a lot of force, because the screws are very tightened.

Well, as I told you, they do not chage complete seat, they are ‚‚repacking‚‚ it.
So it is not only few screws...

Do it anyway, you simply cannot tolerate that bloody seat! It is dangerous to, if you will be involved in a crash , the seatbelt will brake your bones beacause if the seat moves a bit in front when your car is on a powerfull brake, then it is a much higher pressure on you.

Well, those guys have a very nice job. If you come into their workshop with a problem, they advice you not to try fix it , because it may end up worse than it was before. So you are leaving home and they may return to their beer and cards game tongue.gif .
Just kidding, but do it anyway...even so, not replacing the entire seat it is not a difficult job.

Denny, Stu is living in Germany, we are all aware that in Germany they do not treat the customer like in other countries.

If I would be in your shoes, what I would is send a couple of angry e-mail to the Renault of your country, and renault France, explaining exactly the attitude of the workshop.

Make a big fuss and demand that they change the whole seat, that you donŽt trust the service, that you have young kids, blah blah. DontŽt forget to mention to your Renault distributor that you also send emails to Renault France and if the problem is not solved very soon, you are planning to send e-mails to car maganizes in your country.

Thy this way, I am confident you will get a positive answer faster than you expect.

Alex

At last, driver seat came(well 3 weeks ago, but I was not at home that moment), and today they have change it.
And it works :-) I mean it is not moving (till now).
They said that something was broken in seat construction.... what ever... it is ok now!

I just noticed that seat handle is not painted(maybee whole construction). There is no color on it.
