Why don't you call your local service and ask them?

My expiriance is that price of service are diferent from service garage to service garage.

In Novi Sad price for a 1st service (for a Logan 1.5dci) was around 100€ (cca 8200)
in Beocin price was almost the same 200 dinars more. (cca 8400)
In Belgrade on Staro sajmisete price was 6470 dinars

So I did my 1st service in Staro sajmiste.

And the price of accessory is diferent to! Belgrade is most cheep!

I ordered from Belgrade roff stand and it become cheeper then in Novi Sad for a 2000 dinars with delivery.

Today I had big service (60.000 km) on my Logan. Here is price list for spare parts at AK Vidakovic Subotica, and labour is 8.800 din):

1. Roller for toothed belt 2360.00 din
2. Toothed belt 1250.02 din
3. Fuel filter 695.00 din
4. Oil filter 470.00 din
5. Air filter 720.00 din

7. Spark plugs RFC 58LZ2E 4pcs 920.00 din
8. Oil Elf evolution 5w40 4 l 1952.00 din
9. PK belt 1295.00 din

A/C service and coolant refilling if neccesary 3000.00 din

Total spare parts and labour 24.100 din

PS. 1 euro=81 din.

PPS. I'm not sure what is english term for "toothed belt" but hope you understand.

It is recommended to replace it, AFAIK.
For me, the cost was around 500euro. A service in Bucharest.
I have heard about prices as low as ~350 euro elsewhere in Romania. It also depends on what they have to change in the car, of course

keka (sorry for using you as an example, only) and others, i am not sure where you
get your 'Fear Of Driving Dacia' from. this is a rather solid car, and proven concept,
both engine and body. that for the price there are limitations is just natural.

most of the items they claim to have exchanged in the 60.000km service above are only
due at 80-100.000, not at 60 at all unless you drive under extreme conditions (and i
mean extreme, solid desert, or constant stop-and-go taxi in bombay, if you can imagine what
that means). our indian friend here could explain.

the water pump in most cases will 'announce' its malfunction and demise, slowly, and that
usually is well over 80.000km. we have cars now with close to 200.000km, and the
water pump (tested!) still going strong.

we have discussions here for example about oil, where i have the feeling i am in a
Ferrari forum: synth or semi-synth sure have their purpose, but not for a
standard logan. what is sold to you, both in advertisements, persuasion, a
all-knowledgable friend, or actually in a workshop, is another question.

i know, this would lead to an endless discussion, and unfortunately i cannot reference
you to the romanian part of the forum, where some real engineers, mechanics
and employees of dacia and renault voice their 'private' opinions, as opposed to
the 'official' (and expensive) ones. translations from romanian to english is to scetchy
and difficult, so to many misunderstanding would occur. and then we would also enter
the argument about guarantee and nonsens-conditions, pretty fruitless, i am afraid.
THEY are sitting on the longer arm ...

greetings - heinz -

Bravo, heinz! You are right about almost everything, except the translation. Google Translate knows Romanian!
And one more small note. You must understand that a lot of Logan drivers (like myself) is in the position of having a quality brand new car for the first time (that is all X90 project is about), so we are a little bit anxious about it... I think quite normal.
Greetings.

having seen the translations, google and others, it still leaves to many points to interpretation and
speculation, and therefor myth-building. a straight talk, eye to eye, even if done with mixed
languages, drawings, hand-and-foot, sound and pictures, usually brings more understanding,
but is unfortunately not available to most of us.

the new-owner syndrom, fully understandable. have had it myself, long time ago, when i
went at 03:00h in the morning into the garage to 'look' if my FIAT 500 was OK - and just
to give it a little pet.

and the over-information one gets in todays hypermedia does not help, either.

greetings - heinz - (a bit lost for a real solution - but hope this forum helps)

We must not forget one thing that I think noone recommends, be it a car manufacturer or an independent expert - changing the type of oil, and not just regarding it's "origin", mineral or synth, but also the brand. Not that it is some kind of taboo, you can change it to whatever suits you, but following a procedure of flushing the old one, which is costly and therefore hardly justifiable. The best thing is to stick to what is already inside, especially if you are a regular average car user.

changing oil between brands: absolutely (!!!) no problem on mineral oils as long as the
specification is kept. similar to the gasoline at the station, they very often come from the
same raffinery, and are only re-branded later: at a very recent test in the UK and germany
they found the very same 10W-40 oil in 5L-containers costing from 1.15 to 6.45 EUR/L.

semi-synth, general opinion is you can both top up and switch between brands as you like,
again as long as specs are same (ACEA etc).

pure (?) synth oil, opinions differ, even porsche and audi officially permits it, but it does not
apply here, as no DACIA needs or benefits from full-synth.

greetings - heinz -

PS: there was a time in the 70s when i think it was citroen in france tried to advertise
and publish in their service booklets that their cars would work better and more reliable with
ELF oils and benzin/diesel. the courtcase about this lastet 4 or 5 years, when citroen
was forced to remove that statement, had to admit that switching brands did nothing,
and reduce that sentence to CITROEN RECOMMENDS ...

similar tests of the german and austrian automobile clubs last year revealed the same, no difference
and no problem switching, within reason (certainly not mixing mineral with synth), between any
brands, both gasoline/diesel and oils.

yes, i know it is hard to believe down here, and other arguments like cleanliness of the station,
water in the tanks and during transport, come in, but above are the neutral facts.
I AM NOT SELLING OILS ! others are, with great benefits. check the prices lately.

>> procedure of flushing the old one

that was a procedure done in the 1960's - nowadays not even needed when you switch from
mineral to synth (dont ask why anybody might want to do this, anyhow). general procedure
is to change on fairly hot engine with oil filter already removed, and all oil but the 0.2-0.3L in
the sump run out, then change.

heinz - as you suggest, the water pump may malfunction around 80000km; as far as I understand, replacing it will involve the same manual operation as replacing the distribution, so if you do it at the following revision (75k) it will simply be more expensive (due to labour cost). If you do it at 90k, it will still be more expensive, and you are already exposed to a failure.

Besides, in my case, I did it just before a 5000km trip abroad, so I asked the mechanic to be very thorough because I didn't want surprises.

>> I did it just before a 5000km trip abroad

which then, under these circumstances, and if you felt or knew it was giving up soon anyhow, makes perfect sense.
the 'may' in your sentences is a bit to weak a reasoning, in my opinion.

actually, the replacement pumps usually last longer than the originals, so i hope you will agin only hear about your
pump in a few years from now.

safe driving - where will the 5000km take you?

great place too, i agree. has become a bit pricey past two years,
but which place has not.

note that at moment gasoline 95E is cheapest in romania and
slovenia, expensive in craotia and serbia. but anyhow not the big
differences that used to be between countries, in the past.

slovenia charges a vignette fee of 35 EUR for use of highways
and fast roads, and they have set it up so cleverly as not being
able to be avoided. make sure you get one at the border, once
you are on the 'wrong' road, it is too late: 350 EUR.

hope you have a nice trip. sorry it will be one of the last ones
with the LOGAN.

I already said somewhere around this forum that there are 2 services in my city. One is well established Renault service, and the other is relatively new service that belongs to the independent Dacia dealership. They both do not charge the labor for the regular service in the warranty.

But, some time ago when I had to take the car for the diagnostic check due to that problem with accumulator, I asked about the price for the second service (that would be the one at 30000km, or 2 years), and to my surprise they told me that they do not charge the labor for ANY regular service, provided that I take all the replacement parts and material from them.

BTW, I forgot to mention that it was that other new service shop.

I was a bit concerned when I visited them for the first time, because the place itself is not quite eye-catching, but seems that their staff is rather competent. The only problem for the time is working hours, they are not open in the evening.

g100sic, i have found those too: some shops do not charge for labor during warranty, but make you pay
rather high prices for, specially, oil.

others charge a minimal fee for labor, and a much more reasonable fee for the oil and accessories.

one has to check the overall cost carefully. somehow, as it has been discussed here often, it feels like a game.

ideal would be if we find a combination of both: low parts and liquids, and minimal wages. i am dreaming?

>> they are not open in the evening

wellcome in europe: no workshop is open in the eveing (99.9%).

Well, when I was asking about the first regular service, the prices between the 2 services differed within 2 EUR, maybe even 1 EUR (parts and material only, no labor).

I guess you don't have to dream, welcome to the Chinese province You Know Where for the next one wink.gif

Only have to come in decent hours, as anywhere in Europe... Well, almost anywhere... 0.1% wink.gif
