Hi Stu,

There is an extra circuitory available for boosting the head-light power. This is called as a "Cut-out" in India. This circuitary with 90 V bulbs from Philips would do it all. I am going to install this over the weekend. Would let you know more abt this on Monday, Feb 11th 2008.

Regards,
Mahesh

Hi Mahesh,

Is this a bulb or something else and how much it costs you?

stu, wouldnt it be easiest to just buy two complete headlight assemblies in india
and ship them regular parcel post to germany? this does not cost to much, takes
3-4 weeks (from experience) and saves you all the headaches later.

have checked: they are available from every MAHINDRA/LOGAN dealerhips and workshop
there, some might have to order them though (another 2-3 days), but they are also
already available on the 'open' market - our indian friends will know what alternate
channels are usually used.

if none of our indian readers here can help, let me know, and i will see what i can
do - might take some more time, though.

greetings - heinz -

Price is given on Mahindra Renault website (approx price) but you wont get genuine headlights in market, although you may get a costom one designed for Logan (no availability I think).

I contacted DHL about shipping for which they will charge around Rs. 6000 (almost equal to the cost of headlight) for a 7 day fast shipping. I have no idea about general parcel service.

ezee, tks for dropping in on this, appreciated. but be assured, a good car
mechanic in delhi or similar large cities will know how to get it from the
'market' - it took me two phonecalls, and i was promised a set within a
week at most - whatever channnels.

but stu would anyhow probably prefer the original factory ones.

and since stu is not i a hurry, parcel post will do fine - i tried it with some
furniture parts last october, and it arrived 5 weeks later in good condition.

greetings - heinz -

Hi Stu

Whilst on the subject of changing the headlights, have you also looked into changing the speedo unit as well? This will have to be changed so the numbers are in MPH.

I don't know if the dash in the Logan is the same as any other Renault (Clio perhaps?), but if it is bespoke to the Logan, then that may be another problem to overcome.

I am planning to use Philips 100/90 Ralley tubes in my headlights, does this require fitting a relay harness and ceremic holders in Logan?

To avoid melting wiring and fading reflector glass.

eeeze, easy! whats the point? do you really think you will see better? all you will do is
bother others - and they will 'shoot' back at you - you will see nothing.

at least in europe, all DACIA headlight glasses are not glass, but high-impact plastic. so
happy melting - not only of the 'glass', but also of the sockets, wires, switches and relais.

My thoughts too Heinz ! anyway the original lights are more than good enough in my eyes
I think ezee has the lights that you cannot adjust up and down like ours do

he could use the standard indian system to adjust the lights: mother-in-law in the back, lights go up.
mother-in-law in the front, lights go down ...

i was once very close to having an indian mother-in-law, so i know.
