Most of romanians are big fans of german cars. That's due to Golf 2 and 3, Kadett, Vectra A, Record and 80's mercedes.

I think cars made in Japan offer the best price/quality ratio.
You just can`t beat Japan when it comes to affordable quality products.
German cars are very, very good, but the price is also very high for what they offer.
In my view, cars made in Romania are NOT cheap, and the quality is poor. I mean, with the same money you give for a Logan, you can buy a second-hand car made in EU or Japan, wich will beat Dacia anytime.
A friend of mine just bought a Ford Mondeo Tournier made in 2002 with 8000 E, the same money you give for a Logan, and belive me, Dacia just can`t compare with it.

<<the price of a new car that you will be driving from New untill theScrapyard>>

That depends. You can drive it for 5 years and decide that it’s time for her to go to scrapyard. You should mention a period of time for the car to be used. Until that I vote French.

I'll buy a new car when I can afford to pay for it CIA, not leasing or other bullshit! And that car will be either an Alfa Romeo or a Saab 95 Aero (or Volvo).

L.E.: I don't see the sweedish option on that pool, despite the fact that sweedish reliability kicks german ass big time!

Aston Martin DBS is really good.
And there is new VW Passat R36 (with V6 engine, 320 HP, max speed electronicaly limited on 250km/h - 250kph, acceleration to 100km/h is only 4,9 sec) It's fast. Germans call him "the blue dragon". cool.gif

Saving for a Logan Hatchback Diesel

By far, Japanese cars are the most reliable ones. No matter who carries a survey out or where, Honda, Toyota and Suzuki are always in the first positions ( Mitsubishi appears a bit worse ). And if it's ADAC or Auto Bullshit, then they share positions with all German carmakers. OK, Mercedes is (now) top quality (again) and so is BMW, but how about the VW's that are no longer their money worth ?? Or remember the oil leakages in Opel diesel engines some years ago??

In my opinion:
1.- German carmakers have wasted their know-how...but kept the high prices mad.gif
2.- Italian cars are always cool and trendy and sporty but their quality has to improve
3.- French cars have a good ratio; they usually have "affordable" prices and the overall quality is good
4.- Don't forget the "new" Kia/Hyundai. Always cheaper than the others and nowadays never worse.

I voted for the French, I admit I'm a Renault and (in some cases) Citroen fan wink.gif

I vote for German cars. I own Opel Kadett 1.6D 3 door madein 1983 still working fine, after some 250.000 km.

The fact is that today cars are NOT made like they were made some 20-30 years ago. They are not made to last mad.gif

Just remember VW Beetle, Opel Kadett C, Golf I........ biggrin.gif

Could any new car achieve that success and quality? I think not

I have voted "Italian cars"; my favourite carmaker, except Ferrari, is Alfa Romeo. So I'm trying that my next car to be an Alfa Romeo. Even if the quality of production is not at the same level as to the german cars, Alfa Romeo has something what none of the rest of the cars have. It's the beauty, the spirit and the feeling. It is Alfa.
