Yep,
that's why I said expected . I see there's other cars with same or worse results. The pedestrians are definitelly in trouble, they should drive something |

It's not a matter of speed. If you get 5* for pedestrian safety but you hit one at 60-70 km/h I don't think he/she will be protected in any mather. |

Three stars is what they proposed to get.
Without side airbags, no car can get more than that. Anyway in my opinion Logan cabin appears to be very strong after seeing pictures with various accidents, a lot of them in this forum, even the pictures of the car that was tumbled by ADAC. In my opinion, for such prices, it is a reasonable safe car. |

as JORJ said three stars is what they shot for from the begining, but after the Euro NCAP test I heard that Dacia was thinking of maybe adding an option of side airbags, but they finally came to the conclusion that it would be too costly.

Structurally Logan performed well in the test. Problems identified in the frontal crash test could be addressed by adding active seatbelts (pyrotechnic), and making modifications to the pedals (change cable solutions with non-cable ones - acceleration and clutch).
For supplementary side impact protection, side airbags can be added. I believe that with these modifications the car could aim upper 4 points area for NCAP. Unfortunately, I don't think they will ever change anything at Logan (Renault), at least while Clio Symbol is around. |
