Hi everyone merry christmas and happy new year. Now that is snow time do you in europe use reinforced snow chains if road conditions dictate that? And if you do would it use damage ABS or front end or you do not use it? 1zhelp00.gif

I have seen more than one Logan ABS sensor wire riped by snowchains, even when used for 100m. Stick to good winter tyres and you should be fine.

I used snow chains at mountain for about 8 km with no problem. Watch out the correct size and montage. Remember to check and tight again after the first 100m of driving with them.

And also watch out on clean road (no snow or very few). Is danger to rip off the chain and this will make some damage to the car.

You dont need to use snow chains nowdays just get a good set of winter tyres and you will be ok (or even better all weather tyres)

Forget about all-weather tyres. They're no good on snow or ice. Just get yourself a proper set of WINTER tyres. The difference, you'll find, is amazing.
As for the chains, if you install them properly, no damage shall occur to your ABS sensors.

I have driven with Winter Tyres now for over 28 years on and off and I have tried the All weather from Conti and they are Very Good we have come a long way now regarding Tyres
Chains should only be used as a last resort .I would not recomend them though
But if you MUST fit them remove them ASAP
