Can anyone confirm this? It's 10m more than standard breaking distance for modern cars. Is problem with cheap standard tyres?

english translation with google

the standard tyres kindda suck , so better ones should make a difference .

but, the front disks are full i.e. they are not ventilated disks so this makes a difference too .

Should I say something that the measures have been done with a non-ABS version of logan?

The tires in the pictures are not Montana M801. They are Barum Brillantis.

Here is one more test. This one is from ADAC. As far as I can understand the Logan didn't do so bad on this one. Maybe someone who understands German can comment on the differences in the two tests.

This comes as a relief.
In this test 45,5m is measured from 100 to 0 km/h. With better tyres it should shorten for few meters, and that's pretty ok result.

Hello, I have got my Logan 1.4 Laureate for three week. For the winterseason I changed the tyres for winter ones. The original tyres are: Montana M801 185/65 R15 88T. Can anybody tell me if they are O.K.or not? Here in the Czech Republic I cannot find anything about them, probably they do not sell them here.
(By the way, a Logan attracts a lot of attention here, since there has a lot been written about it in the papers and the car-magazines, but there are not that many of them driving around here yet.)

The tires Montana are so-and-so. Not quite good. I advise you to change them after an year (the material is not so good )

I just want to point out that most drivers in Romania consider Montana tires rubbish. They are the cheapest on the market with poor quality. They do their job but don’t ask for high quality ride or good braking performance.

I sold Montana and bought new tyres. What a difference............

It is a pity that 3 weeks after I bought car, they started to sell it with Michellin tyres....... post-336-1110552439.gif post-336-1110552489.gif 022.gif

if you ask any tyre service, everyone will say that barum is very bad choice

ofcourse, why they did not test it with montanas? hhehe like on a "logan on the roof" story they now use badly barum tyres and made a story like "logan brakes are bad"

when you drive on montanas, you can hear a noise of tyres, ofcourse try TIGAR or some "fancy" tyres like michelin or pirreli

hahaha, now i saw on a autobild pictures, they used a Ambient version (not pack)

The Romanian edition of Quattroruote has measured between 38 and 41 meters to stop from 100 km/h. The car was equipped with Michelin Energy tires and ABS. I am saying "between 38 and 41" because this was actually a brake resistance test, with most of the distances less than 40 meters and a peak distance of 41 meters (on their third try). They don't have a web page, I could try to make a scan and post it here. Less than 40 meters qualifies as an excellent result.

I'm sorry, but I can't give you a web link, because this test is from a spanish paper-magazine.
