Well I did suggest a trip to Romania to my wife and she was for it, but right now trips abroad are on hold because we just bought a new flat, redecorated it completly, furniture...

I know you have posted prices in Croatia, but I'm interested do you think Croatia is expensive? How are the prices compared to Romania?

If we are talking about expensive countries one must mention Island. I was there for a couple of days and the prices are amazing. A bear is cca 10 EUR, a beef stake around 50 EUR, a pizza cca 25 EUR and so on.

A nice country but the prices are sky high.

Hello Boris,

Well yes, prices are a little higher in Croatia, along the coast. But I haven't been to our seaside this year and I can't make a real comparison to our prices.

Anyway, in Bucharest for example a beer, in a bar or restaurant, is aproximately 1-1,5 euro. Of course there are some expensive beers but you can drink a good one for 1 euro.

A pizza is 3-4 euros. A stake is under 10 euros (5-6 euros)
The gas is 0.9 euros.

The accomodation in Bucharest, at a 3 star hotel, is about 60 euros.
In the mountains, you can find a nice room for 15-25 euros.

So, we are waiting for you smile.gif

Well, Boris, don't make the mistake to come to Bucharest. If you do visit Romania, you can certainly find nicer places (and ones that are closer to the border, I may add....). I guess if you are really curious, you can find enough nice things to see in Bucharest too, but as a romanian to me it doesn't seem that Bucharest is worth the effort, considering the long road.

BTW, generally speaking, prices in the rest of the country are cheaper than in Bucharest (well, except some seaside resorts maybe, but I wouldn't advise you to go there anyway smile.gif ).

I'm very sorry I have not answered you earlier but my primary hard drive has died on me, and yesterday I have bought a new one. Just installed the OS and surfing again.

I'm glad you liked Zagreb.

Visited the Plitvice lakes this weekend and took some pictures. I posted a picture gallery. I think it's worth to take a look.

Hi Boris.
I've been in Zagreb on 4.01 this year. Coming from Ljubliana, Zagreb is by far nicer than Slovenia capital. And the people too. Congratulations for your beautiful capital.

Well I must say that I don't know a lot of camping places because it's a long time since I was in a camp. I can surf and look for something.

As for Croatia and the coast, my opinion is the further south the better. I have placed some pictures of Croatia on the net, have a look(http://www.flickr.com/photos/boris34/)

I had visited Plitvice Jejera. Too beautiful to describe. Must to see in Croatia.

@ Madmax From Zadar south to Dubrovnik, you have 3 or 4 campings for every kilometer. Usualy in July is about 35 to 45 Euro for 4 persons, 1 child, tent and car.
Enter in first large camping. Whey will have some turistic bureau. You will find complete guide for camping.
Go to Dubrovnik. Avoid campings in the city. Too large and crowdy. in the last 30 km to Dubrovnik you will find nice places with olives trees.

Most important: Scuba diving mask, snorkel and beach shoes. Without these items you are going for nothing in Croatia. smile.gif

@Boris 2 weeks I had pain in my feet from the "sand" on the beach smile.gif) but the underwater beauty was priceless.

@MAdMAx Use this link. It contains the most important camp sites in Croatia.
Along these sites, you will find hundreds of family mini campings.

My choice was camp Rudine in Orasac. This camp site has the finest sand smile.gif

Lucman it's just a matter of what you are used to, since I'm from the south (well my mother and father are) I'm used to beaches with "sand" of any kind.

MadMax what do you want. Noise, crowds, party's, bear and a million tourists or would you like something more quiet.

MadMax i found a price list for all camps in Croatia for 2006, I expect the prices to be similar in 2007.

The meaning of the columns is:

A - Main season - July and August
B - Other months
kat. - camp category
P/N - person per night
CH/N - child per night
T/N - tent per night
C/N - camp trailer per night
MC/N - Winnebago per night
parc. - camping space per night
kWh - electricity per night
dog - price for a dog

All prices are in EURO. I hope this helps.

The two camps KORANBA i SLAPIÆ are in the inlands, not on the coast.

The link is http://www.camping-croatia.com/web%20pdfovi/9camp14-15.pdf

I presume you can always use the 'Print Screen' Button (I think it's Alt+PrintScreen for the window only) and then Copy+Paste it in a Word document for example...

Thank you Boris! I looked from some prices on the net...and for hotel or apartaments or rooms in centre or not....there are 50-70 euro/room... wacko.gif

and for vv
I saw the Mirna Noc vilas, looks nice..even i made the reservation (35 euro/room/night)...and i can pay when i will arrive there..

but i dont know if it's easy to visit the old city from Mirna Noc....i understood that it's from 15 minutes from centre..with the car...
we want just to visit the old city and to look around..

we arrived from Timisoara on 26 august in the evening....do you think if we can visit the city...just if we stay 1 night in Mirna Noc?...or we need 2 night to do that?

thank you
