Hi to everyone!!

I'm really happy with my new Logan. It's been a whole week with me, 190 km smile.gif
It's a 1.4 MPI, blue Egée, with A/C. I didn't buy the original radio-cd but bought a Pioneer one instead.

First impressions are quite good. It runs smoothly and surprises every member of my family (I think they expected something very different). Comfortable, not very noisy, easy to drive.

Some pictures:

I'll further tell you my opinions as time goes by smile.gif

Can you check if this device (electronic distributor - or how it is called - where all 4 spark plugs are connected with cables?) is screwed to your the engine with 3 or 4 screws?

On my friends 1.4 MPI Logan it is screwed with 3 screws only, altough there are 4 holes for screws.

So, he want to know if that is "bug or feature" smile.gif

In Rusia are the same shape of car (with a form of aileron on portbaggage and and a new mask with Renault logo). Do you know something about Logan Hadgeback?

It doesn't exist a Dacia (Renault) Logan "Hadgeback"! There is only Dacia (Renault) Logan Sedan and it will be, soon, Dacia (Renault) Logan Break.

@zorpetus: all logans have the high voltage coiled fixed with 3 screws although it has 4 holes, so don't worry.

Thank you for this info! :-)

My friend can sleep now :-)

Is there any particular reason for not using the fourth screw or it was decided that it wasn't needed as those 3 are pretty enough to keep the the coil firmly fixed on the engine? :-)

Probably 3 are enough, and at three cars built you have 3 extra screws for the fourth for free. So low cost is pushed to extreme. If one screw costs 0.05 euros, at 200.000 cars built they probably saved 10.000 euros.

@LoggyVen - I like the Renault Logan. I have one question for you how are the Logan's selling down there in Venezuela? Do you see many on the streets? I'm asking because I was recently on a trip in Bogota, Colombia and I didn't see many Logan's on the street. huh.gif

And who knows how many screws are missing on one car?? Maybe that's how they are paying the salaries of an entire department from Dacia. Or as a Christmas bonus, the worker who managed to build a Logan with the lowest quantity of screws shall receive a bonus consisting in a real "screw". radmasa.gif

Hello Berlina,

Logans are selling out as fresh bread..., we have a lead time of 3 weeks (thats the time you have to wait to have your car once you pay your down payment). The logan sold in Venezuela are made in Colombian factory SOFASA (same factory where toyota assembled some models), mine is Logan E2 1.6MPI petrol, I believe 200 or more units a month are imported from Colombia, this 200 units are for 17 dealers nationwide, so all logans being ship from Colombia already have an owner.

Here at Caracas a 5 million people city, logans are starting to being common, this a market dominated by US cars.

Regards

I dont think the badge alone will fit. You´ll have to buy the entire plastic thing, that goes between the front lights. Anyways why do you want a renault badge?

well you'll have to change the Dacia badge on the trunk too. wink.gif
and that's not as easy as the front one because changing the back one means changing the whole trunk.

That's what I meant.
This Topic might be helpful for changing the front grill.
Even though it's in Romanian there are some pictures in between.

Wrong!

This feature is present on Renault Clio as well.
It was discovered that from the high temperatures arround there the coil breaks when screwed with 4 screws so there was a quickfix and they use now 3 screws. Simple solution with great result.

The badge on the trunk seems to be not very hard to remove. Last year, a kid hit the badge with a ball wile playing close to the car. I found the logo displaced a little bit, and I pushed it back in it's slot.
Try to find some kids with a ball and encourage them to aim the logo. This will help.
