faulty cranckshaft position sensor-CKP sensor !

Thank you for your help! I have cleaned the sensor but the problem remained. Do you have anyother suggestion for the problem? |

I think the suggestion of a faulty crankshaft position sensor is a good one. I had a similar problem (of the car not wanting to start, or cutting out) in a Renault Megane I which had the same type of engine. The most serious occurence was when the engine stopped in the middle of a wildlife park!
The sensor can deteriorate with time (I believe it's an electromagnetic device) and it's well worth replacing it, not just cleaning it, to see if it solves the problem. The sensor is not expensive (less than 40 euro I think). Hope it helps! Pollux |
