...and I don't mean in the crash or accident! biggrin.gif

What I'd like to know is, what are the weak spots of Logan? Especially during the warranty period!
Seams interesting to me to have this as a summary.

My own experience, so far:
- pressure sensor in the steering hydraulic circuit (leaking fluid),
- rear window glass (broken heater line),
- driving wheel (a crack in the plastic).

after 3 years and 67000 km

1. left ballance steering plug (srb: balans stangla)

2. reverse gear light automat

3. at LPG service , pressure sensor in the BRC LPG rail

4. 4 sparkplugs (some french model) extremly bad work with LPG, knocking, and kicking on a small rpms. i thought that problem was with engine, but after changing, everything became perfect...

5. Left front glass window (kicked from some stealing idiot , wich stolen my sony CDX GT300)

6. breaking of floor at LPG bottle, at the holder screws (like guys in service says, it is bad construction of bottle holder). After the servicing and again setup without holder, on classic way, everything is cool now...

Hi,
After 3000 Km, I saw a slight leak around one of sensors (probably pressure sensor) located at the top of engine in my Logan (Tondar90).

But unfortunately there are somethings that was wrong at the first day (Damn to some car manufacturers!):
1. The courtesy light doesn't operate with doors.
2. There is no rear door switches.
3. The ECU protection case has not been installed.
4. There is no glove box lightning.

1. The courtesy light doesn't operate with doors. - there might be a mulfunction
2. There is no rear door switches. - you dont have that switches because you have one of the 2 cheapest version of logan.
3. The ECU protection case has not been installed. - same reason. it`s about a metal box that protects the ECU, not the plastic box, that plstic box is no longer available on any version.
4. There is no glove box lightning. same reason as at no. 2 and 3.

Only so few posts in here so far?
I can't believe! Considering what our Romanian friends often say about poor quality, it is a surprise for me.

If this really reflects an overall good reliability of this model, then something else bothers me - that a few of us have been really "lucky"! blink.gif

Almost 80 000 km / 3 years.
I had to change a steering rod on the right side, two shock absorbers for the rear side and one acceleration cable.
Pretty well !

@Dizzy
Not much if you judge just by numbers, but shock absorbers and steering rod?!
For me that is serious stuff for, if I may say so, "just" 80000 km!!
Is it due to rough roads you are driving on, or what?!

I agree, because I've been asking seven taxi drivers (DCi Laureate) with almost 200.000 km each car, and no sign of the above problems, although they are driving under the very heavy conditions (small town, nearby villages, rough roads etc). And they are quite satisfied with Logans.
About shock absorbers, I don't think that a lot of drivers understand how important they are. Best tires and (ABS or no ABS) brakes are nothing without good shock absorbers. I don't agree with that term, because they don't really absorb anything but instead they are to maintain a good tyre-to-road contact to be able to steer and brake (also to accelerate) effectively. And they also have their life-span (let's say 20 to 100 thousand kilometers, for instance), depending on their quality and driving conditions, of course, and has to be regularly checked. Nothing unusual if one has to change them after "just" 80.000 km! icon_mrgreen.gif

And about the steering rod - the same taxi company I talked about had to change hydraulic servo pumps and the steering rod on all 7 brand new Astras Classic II in the first 40.000 km (during warranty of course) and still nobody states that this car is Polich low cost version of Opel brand!

Glad i found this forum, wish I'd found it before I bought my Logan mcv though.
Just got it yesterday and after leaving the dealership in Zagreb, Croatia and noticed it had fuel warning light on. I figured they must have put at least 5 litres in the tank so I could make it to the petrol station and fill up.
Unfortunately though the car stopped with no fuel in it before I made it.
Within 15 minutes of having a new car I found myself pushing it off the road !!!!
More of a dealership problem than a manufacturers problem.

After getting home I noticed a 10cm area of paint had been rubbed/scrubbed off from the inside edge of the drivers door !! Right down to the metal !!! Today I take the car back to the dealer !!
I also noticed what appears to be strands of fiber glass stuck to the ceiling !!!
Very poor attention to detail !! The dealer also hadn't cleaned it that well.
Oh yeah, I also found 2 screws on the floor behind the front passenger seat ?!
Other than that, I quite like the car, lots of space and load carrying ability, which is perfect for my needs of family/work car.
Drives well, looks good.

Baotiæ
Went back today cause they said they would photograph the damage and report to Dacia.
After driving from the complete other side of town, I arrived there and was given a card of some guy and told to call him when I get back from my trip next week and then come back so he can photograph it !!!
They are really pissing me off now. mad.gif
They said the screws were from the speakers they took out but I think it's
more likely to be extras from the ceiling shelf they put in.

Boris, do you know somewhere in Zagreb that will custom make a carpet for the back luggage area ? The stuff that's there now doesn't look like it will last long with me putting things in and out all the time.

gav, sorry to repeat this, but you seem to have a careless (at least) dealer.

>> Unfortunately though the car stopped with no fuel in it before I made it
>> Within 15 minutes of having a new car I found myself pushing it off the road !!!!

well, if it wasnt so sad, at least a funny picture. BUT: new cars really come in
with 1 liter max of fuel in them, just to drive within dealer premises. that is a
safety requirement during transport, in some countries even a law. but the dealer
should have added 5 liters, or at least told you clearly.

>> 10cm area of paint had been rubbed/scrubbed off from the inside edge

strange. could you make a picture?

>> found 2 screws on the floor

also a picture if possible. the speaker screws are very easy to identify (hex inset).
but why would they have taken out any speakers anyhow?

>> Drives well, looks good

now here you are 1000% right, and it will remain so for a long time.

greetings - heinz -

Unfortunately, I have yet another update for this topic.

The lacquer started peeling off from the paint on the trunk lid, on a couple of places, not just single one! Reported this to the dealership, they took some pictures and sent them to the Renault central I suppose, and we are now waiting if it will be accepted to be repaired in warranty. No reason why it shouldn't be, but one never knows... I will not know for next 2 weeks until I come back from the vacation. I'm taking my Logan to Greece, BTW smile.gif (knock on wood).

This is my fifth intervention in just over a year and a half, and I'm more and more convinced, as a guy from the dealership said, that I should start playing lottery!!!

Although all of this may be considered as minor defects, the annoyance is definitely not minor... not any more!

Looking at my own post, and I see it's been a whole month till today, and I still haven't received a confirmation from the dealership about a paint/lacquer repair in warranty.

And back then I was hoping it will be decided in 2 weeks time while I was on the vacation...

I don't know what to think, Renault people have vacations this long?!? biggrin.gif

A guy at the dealership couldn't tell me anything more then to wait still... "It's summer, you know!" The only new thing is that they got a brand new Sandero.... smile.gif Seen it, touched it, sat in it... only didn't drive it smile.gif

I have the same problem with paint. All by itself it started to make little white patches (basic paint) where red paint (my Logan is red) came off. I have a few pathces everywhere - on the roof, on one of the doors, on the hood, even on the trunk. Logan is 10 months old.

Maybe they started to make lousy paint in 2007?

yes, the paint has been an issue from the very beginning, thats why they not only
changed the colors several times, but also the chemical combination.

it has been up and down, up and down, i am afraid. but DACIA is aware of it, so i
hope they have away of settling such disputes easily and quickly.

on this issue, g100sic, you are unfortunately 100% right. it has been a problem from
the very beginning, DACIA (reluctantly) admitted mistakes, but has a hard time eliminating
new ones and settling old ones.

it was one of the reasons why we chose white for all of our cars, supposedly one of
the colors with the least problems. asides from the fact that i like white, and at least
for my personal car, would have chosen it anyhow.

No, I have a normal (cheap) red. The dealer said blue has issues, and that red paint is OK, so I took it. I added money for side airbags rather than for metallic paint.

the red was known to be very thin, but at least it did not
come off in blisters and bubbles like the metallic did.

>> money for side airbags rather than for metallic paint

a very sensible and wise decission.

I've found this piece of plastic on my pirvate parking place. Is it part of Logan 1.4MPI or came into parking from the street?

I couldn't find anything/hole similar on the vehicle.

Best regards,
