Alianța Renault-Nissan se poate rupe în orice moment. Este informația care a determinat o prăbușire a acțiunilor Renault, acestea ajungând la cel cel mai scăzut nivel din ultimii șase ani. Luni, 13 ianuarie, în jurul orei 10:27 GMT (Greenwich Mean Time), acțiunile Renault scăzuseră cu 3,7% la Bursa din Paris, cel mai puternic declin înregistrat de o acțiune în cadrul indicelui buserier CAC 40. Totul s-a întâmplat după un articol publicat de Financial Times, care arată că Nissan a demarat deja un plan secret, care are ca scop finalizarea colaborării cu producătorul auto din Hexagon. Planul vizează sfârșitul parteneriatului, care este în vigoare de nu mai puțin de 20 de ani, un parteneriat coordonat, până în 2018, de Carlos Ghosn. Astfel, cei doi constructori nu vor mai dezvolta împreună platforme și motoare și nici nu-și vor mai împărți costurile de producție. Informație vine la scurt timp după fuga lui Carlos Ghosn din Japonia, acolo unde era arestat la domiciliu, la sfârșitul lunii decembrie. Ghosn ar fi ajuns în Liban după ce s-a ascuns în cutia unui contrabas. De la Beirut, omul de afaceri acuză sistemul de justiție din Japonia de încălcarea drepturilor omului.
