g100sic, pls dont warn him. i would very much like him to take me up on the 50 EUR bit - then we finally could
have a fully financed LOGAN meeting, all of us, plenty of food and drinks, and blame it on old gas stations.

greetings - heinz -

@Paparazzo: the only reasonable explanation is that western countries do not use leaded petrol at all (please correct me if I am wrong) and newer gas stations are by default not equipped for that king of gasoline, i.e. all the nozzles are smaller, as for unleaded gasoline. Still, I have never seen such a situation, but 50 EUR for a shot, do you think it is Angelina Jolie or what?

>> but 50 EUR for a shot

well, if you so sure, it goes both ways, the 50 EUR. the only problem i have is to get as many as possible within
a few days, so will 10 in 3 days do?

>> do you think it is Angelina Jolie or what?

send us a picture, and we will know.

>>well, if you so sure, it goes both ways, the 50 EUR.

What do you mean, both ways, I will get 50 EUR for every shot that shows "regular situation", i.e. the difference between leaded and unleaded petrol nozzles on the petrol station? If so, I will spend my holiday driving around and clicking...

that would be easy, and you would be a milionaire in a few days. i agree that 99% of the stations are correct

no, both ways meant that if i provide prove and pictures, and you the counterprove that they are not correct,
manipulated or far to old, then the 50 is yours.

but funny that we are just discussing this, because you would like this: found a station in ex-YU (MK) only
yesterday, a small village, where there are only two pumps. AND BOTH OF THEM ARE MARKED DIESEL.

the attandent claimed this has been so for xx years, even after one of them was changed to 95 LEADFREE.
and as long as he and all his customers knew, it was alright this way. luckily, at least the nozzle on the
95 was correct ...

... and did you take the fuel on this station?
You are right, I really like this...
And also, I like the thing that we agreed about the 99%, so no jungle job.

>> .. and did you take the fuel on this station?

yes, but 10L only, and only after smelling on the nozzle, and asking three times if he was sure it was E95.

>> like ... that we agreed about the 99%

it might be even 99.5%. i always said there were only a few ones, but if you drive the locations i do, you find them.

>> so no jungle job

Recently I read about a research on drivers habits (not the right word, but I can't find any better) in Serbia. According to that research, 40% of drivers/cars are still driving on old type leaded petrol, 20% on LPG, and only (!!!) 17% on unleaded petrol...

Source (in serbian): http://www.b92.net/automobili/istrazujemo....8&nav_id=312082

This fact puts a lot of light on what Heinz and Loganovac were discussing here.

>> 40% ... leaded petrol, 20% on LPG, and only (!!!) 17% unleaded petrol ...

well i hope loganovaci reads this. i had rather biased figures, published by LUK OIL in june this year,
where it was, for cars (not buses or trucks) 34% leaded, 22% LPG, 26% UNLEADED, and 14% DIESEL,
but even this is close enough. dont though understand why some 4% are missing here, what do they do,
like stu push their car all day?

but basically, the LEADED figure is by far the highest in any european (please, no politics now) country.

Stu, habit is what you do willingly, and I don't believe all of those 40% who drive cars on leaded petrol do that because they want, or like that. So, the choice of word was not correct in that sense.

And Heinz, a believe that I don't have to tell you (of all people not from Serbia on this board) how many cars with 2-stroke engines there are still on our roads! biggrin.gif There is a village near Aleksinac where almost the entire population owns Wartburgs! The count was over 100 if I remember correctly... biggrin.gif

PS. Uuuups.... after a short googeling I found the correct figures for Wartburgs... biggrin.gif
There was 30 households and 30 Wartburgs in that small village, now it is estimated that some 20 are still in driving condition!

well, i liked the idea of 4% pushing their vehicle much better, at least visually.

and i am sure the 2-strokers fall into the LEADED category anyhow, because thats what they buy. after that, we can supply
them with all the free oil to mix with which barrie supplies, because thats still in a pristine condition by the time he gets rid of it.

have a nice sunday, all - heinz -

A Habit for your information is something you can do without realising it smoking is a habit .You just stick a fag in your mouth and smoke it without even realising you have done it .or an automatic pattern of behavior in reaction to a specific situation; may be inherited or acquired through frequent repetition; "owls have nocturnal habits"; "she had a habit twirling the ends of her hair or picking her nose or biting her nails .So if you always go to the same Pump and fill up its a habit .you do it without looking anymore

A recurring and often unconscious pattern of behavior resulting from frequent repetition
.Also a habit is something a Monk Wears radmasa.gif

Stu, you got me there biggrin.gif
I'm not using thesaurus, just a spell checker biggrin.gif
Anyhow, still, having an old car with outdated engine (at least in this country), can hardly fall into the category of habit, under any of the definitions!

If you would continue to put leaded petrol into your brand new Logan, now, that would constitute a habit!!! biggrin.gif

stu, a simple solution to this one: drive on the other side,
then they wont notice.

the problem with foglights in the UK being that they are on
some 300 days/year, why dont you get left AND right?

seriously: get one of those really cheap add-on ones hanging
from the bumber, and once you are done, remove them.

but, wasnt it you who once mentioned life in the UK was so
easygoing and unregulated, specially in comparison to germany?
