Hey, by even thinking in that dirrection you are admitting that Logan has poor back side visibility (a frequent argument by those who are "attacking" Logan) wink.gif

The Logan is a very good car and the only fault in my eyes is the view behind !! Ok we use our mirrors but it is the boot (Trunk) that gets in the way ..I have been driving Trucks for over 30 years .so it is not that i cannot drive blink.gif It is a worthy addition for anyone to put in excl.gif
I have ordered mine from Ebay ..But not with a Display just a beeper that will be in the Boot
have a look ..EBAY REVERSING AID

Have you mounted it yet? If yes - what are your impressions? Any good?
How you fit those sensors to bumper? Photos are more than welcome as well as other "field" experience - what of those "aftermarket parking sensors" are proven to be good in terms:

- not so expensive
- good performance
- easy to mount
- doesn't look ugly when mounted smile.gif

be careful with the "reversing aid"; some of them draw too much current and could kill the "reverse switch" on the gearbox. Add a relay and provide power from a separate circuit.

Do not relay to much on the reverse aid sensors, a friend of mine hit a little pole that was too short to be registered by the sensor on his car.

I was speaking generally intending to make simply joke and not to hurt anybody.
So, you, Mr. Martin have recognized yourself feeling insulted. What word has made you so?
Aged?
Glasses?
Or dirty?
A joke could be excellent, good, ordinary, bad, even poor, but something what hasn’t been seen
as a joke could not be poor one.
I am poor in sense of not having a couple of houses or apartments, my bank account lacks digits,
I drive cheap Romanian car (ha, ha), I go to cheap Bulgarian coast (if someone had told me so some
twenty years ago when I was young, beautiful, clever student in flourishing country my replay would be that
that one was ready for madhouse), I live in deep province, don’t support mistress(es),
haven’t got brand-named underwear or cloths etc…
I am aged, too (over forty). There is nothing wrong with it unless it has come rather fast. ohmy.gif
I’ll make it shorter.
But I’m rich man, my kids, brother; friends, dog, life experience and memories are priceless.
So, poor Mr. Martin, where has gone your famous English sense of humor?
On vacation?
As for “poor back side visibility” (hmm, poor again…)
– don’t be niggard, buy system with cameras and display,
but first clean up your glasses. cool.gif

I don't know about that reversing aid, I mean, my father is driving Passat (CL, sedan, 1990) for about 10 years, and there was no accidents with it, on parking lot or on road. And remember that Passat is much bigger than Logan...
There's no need for that aid, I mean if computers start to do everything for us, we will forget to live our lives...

Young Man ! excl.gif
today it is normal to have the reversing aids on most cars (New) and also on most cargo vehicles .It is a great asset to the Logan because the boot is very high and obscures your view from behind .and I as a grownup notice this a lot and I suppose you as a Young Kid would not notice this as you will not yet be able to see over the backrest of the front passenger seat sofer5.gif
and as for Computers this is the whole idea of them to take out the hard and unessersary work from our lives and let us get on with living cheers.gif

Hi!

QUOTE
http://www.daciaclub.ro/index.php?showtopic=52952

You'll find a lot of pictures that show you how to do it.

I'm going to install such a sensor in my Logan. Mentioned pictures are of great value, but could someone knowing Romanian language be so kind, and translate descriptions (it is not a lot of text, so it should take only a moment).

From pictures, I see that I could install sensors without need to dismount a bumper, but I'm afraid that I can accidentally chose such a location for a given sensor, where there will be not enough space to fit this sensor.

There is also matter of warranty. Mounting this sensor in an ASO cost about 100 Euro (in Poland), what is considered by me as a rip (as I want to install sensor without any display, only with a buzzer, it requires less than one hour of work). How do you think, in case of any problem with f.e. engine computer, can ASO refuse a repair due to "modification in electric circuit"? (I consider such a possibility as ridiculous, but if they will have a possibility to refuse something, they probably use it!)

Thank in advance for any answers

Best regards
Krzysztof

a short tlanslation for that text is:

first you measure and mark where do you want the sensors to be inslalled.
in that area apply masking tape.
the sensors on the left/right corner should pe positioned jus at the begining of the curbature of the rear bumper.

in that reversing aid kit, it will be provided to you a drill-bit, with which you will bore holes into the bumper.
remove the masking tape an clear the edges of the holes.
under the carpet in the trunck on the right side you will see a notch (for preventig air to pressurized in the trunck - thus breaking a window). -trough there you will put the cables from the bumper to the inside of the car. http://www.daciaclub.ro/index.php?act=Atta...e=post&id=33537

to get the cables trough the bumper without removing it, use a piece of wire/cable/ whatever , which is solid aluminium or copper, that you can bend and retain that form.
http://www.daciaclub.ro/index.php?act=Atta...e=post&id=33540 - here you see he starts from the left side with the cables.. first he introduced that copper solid wire trough the center-left hole and out trough the left corner hole.. then you tie the cable to that solid wire and pull.. and so on trough the rest of the bumper.. into the car.. and you mount sensors as you go, from left to right. finaly you will have the wires into the trunk trough that notch, and all the sensors mounted on the bumper.

next you mount the display.
in the post number four named "Partea a 4-a" (part four) - he put the pictures about where do that cable runs from the rearview mirror to the trunk where the rest of the cables from the sensors are.
then you connect the cables from the sensors to that electronic unit, accordig with the diagram provided in the kit.
it will be two cables wich should be fitted at the +/- of march-ariere light (reverse light), easly found studying the connector to the right tail light, or with a voltmeter see wich is the + cable, thus - pole is everywhere on the chasis, anyway you plug those cable from the unit to the connector for the tail-light.(actually that is the power plug for the whole system.. but it's low power consumption)

plug all cables according with the diagram, glue that unit to the inside of the trunk (doublesided tape - provided in the kit).

that should be all. pictures are talking themselves
