O problema asemanatoare o aveau cei de la volvo cand au introdus SIPS si airbag-ul cortina. Pasagerii nu mai mureau dar intrau in coma fara a avea lovituri cauzatoare de asa ceva. Problema s-a rezolvat prin introducerea deformatiilor controlate in caroserie, adica anumite parti fiind facute sa absorbe energia degajata de accident prin deformare specifica.
