Hello to everyone, I have a logan for 1 year, i just had the 25000 km maintenance, but i have noticed something, before the maintenance i usually start the car everymorning for 10 minutes untill it gets warm enough and then i will start the a/c. at this point i use to have 4 leds on the tempature indicator. but now after the maintenance i startup the car for 10 minutes then when i start the a/c the 4 leds drop down to 2 and after 15 minutes goes back to 4. during this time i do have the a/c on. Does anyone knows why is this. thanks homer

Apart from your problem, to which I cannot suggest any solution, but then again from what you say your car is still under warranty, so this is something you should let the service deal with...

Why on earth do you warm up the engine for the whole 10 minutes????????

It's a complete waste of fuel, not to mention pollution, and it does not do any good for the engine!! Even the Logan's user manual recommends against such practice! In the section about advices for reducing pollution, sparing fuel and driving, it literally stands (translation from the manual in Serbian): "It is better that you do not warm up the engine while standing still, but to drive sparing the engine until it reaches its working temperature."! The computer control of the injection engines does all the work in maintaining the optimal parameters at all times and working conditions!

Why do you even want to try to “outsmart” computer control????

there are 2 causes:

1. thermostatic valve which opens at low temperature
2. temperature sensor interface connector

That is exactly my view as well
It is better to start the engine and drive not wait for it to get warm
I think what he see,s is the thermostat opening and letting cool water into the system when the temp is at Normal Working Temp .
this will lower the Temp for a couple of minutes

I think that there is no problem at all when you turn a/c on, radiator fan turns on too, so it is at the same time cooling the engine, which obviosly isn't hot enough, so temperature drops to 2 bars. After long standing or when you start to drive, engine temperature goes back to 4 bars

the answer is on the 5 reply- when you turn AC the cooling fan start.
