Efectul Chladni.

In secolul al XVIII-lea, fizicianul german Ernst Chladni a dovedit existenta modelelor pe care le pot crea undele sonore prin folosirea unui arcus de vioara, pentru a provoca vibratia la nivelul unor placi metalice peste care era asternut un strat de nisip. El a aratat ca energia sonora a determinat orientarea granulelor de nisip dupa anumite modele. Acestea depindeau de inaltimea undei, desi dimensiunile si grosimea placii precum si dimensiunile granulelor de nisip influentau si ele tipul modelului final.
