Is there any tip how to remove a very shallow scratch from a winshield, probably made when sand-grain was catched between the windshield and windshield wiper...

I heard that those carr-glass service people don't like to polish it as this would destroy the geomertry of the glass - but this is so shallow (can't detect it by nail even), so I am not sure if polishing of such scratch would also have negative impact on geometry of the screen?

If the scratch is shallow enough they fill it with some kind of material and then polish just the surface without removing glass from the windshield.

So, in another words - doesn't really matter if the scratch is shallow or deep - they apply the same technique : fill in the gap with some (epoxy?) material, and then polish it untill it gets into same level with the surface of the windscreen?

No it matters, if it's too deep they can't fix it.

Only way to fix the problem it seems to change the windshield.

However, question is if that "original spare part" that official Dacia dealer is selling is as good as the one that came originally with Logan. It is approx 120 Euros (with VAT).

On the other hand, people from Euroglass (NOVUS) are quite positive that windshields they sell are "as good as the original one, except it is not written Dacia on it, and they are not produced in Turkey but in Hungary" (?).

Does anybody knows something more about this issue?

Yes, I've made few phone calls - Euroglass charges about 90-95 Euros for the windshield ("Austrian" - actually made in Hungary) and 25 euros for the installation.

They are also willing to install "original" bough in Dacia but then they charge 30 Euros or so for it.

But, I am still not sure if:

a) "original" spare part windshield is as good as one that came with the car?
cool.gif if not is it any better than Hungarian one?

Any input is more than welcome!
