Hi frds. I bought Logan 1.4 without Airbag for passenger. Can I buy spare (new) from shop and mount it at empty place in dashboard? How-to? Thank's in advance.

This practice is not mentioned in any repair manual. Even the dealer would be reluctant to sell you a spare airbag if your car does not have one. The mechanic that mounts it in in your car would be legally responsable if it should happen to go off accidentally.

It would cost more to fit an airbag than i would have costed to have it as an extra
Just drive slow and if you have an accident make sure it is on your side

Dealer don't have option to buy Logan Preference with passenger airbag, or to mount airbag after. WHY?
I must to pay 2000 eur extra to buy same car with Authentic package.

I think it is not impossible,
becasue Airbag exist at driver place, and all required electronic devices.
Also, we have place in dashboard.
We can buy airbag in store (like spare part).

It is not ilegal to secure yourself. What is worse, to place airbag that might not work (but give to your chance to survive, if operate Ok), or so ?

In other words I am really curios in wich european country do you live. I ask you that because I want to know whay in your contry Dacia sell Logan without passager airbag.

Vismajor said that he needed to buy the Authentic package to get the passanger airbag so in Serbia Dacia sells the Logan with passanger airbag. Pay more atention!

Indian Logan too dont have passenger airbags.... I too feel that one cant understand the value these kinda devices untill it saves your life.... which is must for countries like India etc.

Question is not if airbag system can be physically fitted, but does existing ECU supports 2 airbags or not. Authorised repair shops should know this better.

New airbag prices are high. Most second-hand cars, which have been involved in crashes with deployed airbags, are being sold without new ones. Driver and passanger airbag cost at least 1000-1500 E.

I suggest to check with Renault service for details and prices for airbag fitting.

I think that no one will assume the responsibility of fitting a passenger airbag in a car that didn't have this option. If improperly fitted the airbag could deploy for no specific reason and KILL the right-side passenger.

I have once heard a story about a factory-fitted (standard) driver-side airbag that deployed when the car owner tried to fix the horn on his own (the car was a Megane and had the horn control on the steering wheel). Fortunately he was not injured but changing the airbag and the airbags' ECU was about 2000 Euros.


So, if you do want to have a right-side airbag sell the car and buy another one with 2 airbags.

I ask my car dealer to buy aibag, and price is 600 EUR + 100 EUR instalation.

I will try to take photos during instalation if they let me to do that. Bill I don't have until end of service. They must to provide bill, but more of that, i wait for guarantie for airbag proper operation, if I pay 700 eur.

More we gona know about this in few day's ahead, they are "overbooked".
