vad poze cu Zonda p-aci si multa fibra de carbon....cata agitatie ca sa mai scadem cu 0,2% din consum.....de fapt,aici se discuta de aerodinamica la general nu doar despre aerodinamica logan-ului....culmea

S-a transformat si intr-un topic de stiri aero sau ce se mai face in domeniu pentru turbulente cat mai mici.

O masina mai patrata decat un duster si cu un motor mai potent, are totusi niste bucati de plastic la rotile din fata. Asta trebuia sa intelegi, nu pretul.

O fi făcută pentru autobahn…nu pentru praf/pietriş/grohotiş/noroi/zăpadă unde nu te ia vântul decât pe creastă…

Exclusive Aerodynamic Package
While the standard all-new Focus already boasts an exceptionally aerodynamic bodyshell (5-door CD = 0.295), the ECOnetic model has been designed with a number of additional features to minimise drag still further.

Much of the aerodynamic development was concentrated on smoothing the airflow underneath the vehicle.  The ECOnetic derivative features additional undershields and deflectors, which cover most of the underfloor between the front and rear axles, together with a new undershield on the rear axle.

Aerodynamic performance is also improved by the use of steel wheels combined with special low-drag ECOnetic wheel covers, which are more streamlined than a conventional alloy wheel design.

The ECOnetic model features, as standard, the innovative Active Grille Shutter – an advanced new system that optimises aerodynamics by using vents to control airflow through the grille to the cooling system and engine compartment.

If air is required to cool the engine the vents are opened; but if no airflow is needed, the vents are shut, thereby significantly reducing aerodynamic drag

Mounted in the grille aperture ahead of the radiator, the Active Grille Shutter features motorised horizontal vanes which can rotate through 90 degrees to block the air flow. Automatically controlled by the car’s electronic control unit, the vanes can be rotated into
16 different positions – from fully closed to fully open – depending on the amount of cooling air required.

When fully closed, the reduction in drag means that the Active Grille Shutter can reduce CO2 emissions by 2 per cent.

Logan_Stepway, nu se vede deloc in consum sau tinuta de drum. Motoarele cu martoage in loc de cai si prea multa topaiala.

Si de ce nu a intrebat pe forum macar ce se mai poarta in domeniu, daca tot ii aia grija? Ca iar a iesit lipsa la apel si asta cand s-a strigat prezenta aerodinamicii pe masina.

Ma bufneste rasul ce zice pacaliciul asta. GM rulez, ce sa zic. Noroc cu criza, ca altfel nu stiau ce insemna aerodinamica.

Rear fender skirts look great, but flunk in other ways

FRANKFURT -- Rear fender skirts certainly make a car appear sleek and extremely aerodynamic.

So it is just a matter of time before they become standard equipment on all cars, right?

Automakers continue to search for a wide range of styling tricks to reduce aerodynamic drag in an effort to improve fuel economy.

General Motors global styling boss Ed Welburn, interviewed last week on the sidelines of the Frankfurt auto show, said “anything that helps reduce the interference along the side of a car is a good thing.”

So it looks like removable rear fender skirts are a done deal, right? Not so fast.

It turns out after extensive testing by GM, removable fender skirts flunked. They are more of a problem than a solution.

According to Welburn, there are several drawbacks:

• The fender skirt causes tire pressure to increase. Although he did not say it, neither GM nor any automaker wants to create a design that increases the probability of tire failure.

• Removable skirts are difficult to keep in place properly, plus there’s the added cost of each skirt.

• Pick one: To use a fender skirt, the rear tires need to be narrower to fit inside the wheel well or the vehicle track needs to be narrower or the body needs to be what he called “pulled out” to accommodate the same size tires that are steering the car.

Welburn said pulling the body out, essentially widening the body where the rear tires are located, increases aerodynamic drag.

While Welburn didn’t explain the other two choices described above, a narrower tire would reduce vehicle capacity and a narrower vehicle track could slightly increase the probability of rollover.

Says Welburn: "The short answer is, skirts don’t help on a production car."

Singura problema reala este mizeria. Atat timp cat nu se monteaza pe masini de wrc, nu are nici o problema incalzirea cauciucului.

Ford Focus

Grilă radiator auto-adaptivă – o aerodinamică optimizată înseamnă performanţe sporite şi consum redus.

Închidere grilă radiator automată
Noul Focus este dotat cu un sistem cu închidere grilă radiator automată (active grill shutter). Orificiile de aerisire de la nivelul grilei sunt mereu deschise pentru a asigura răcirea motorului la deplasarea cu viteză redusă, însă se închid automat când accelerezi. Acest lucru îmbunătăţeşte aerodinamica, ceea ce reduce consumul de combustibil cu până la 0,8% conform noilor cicluri de măsurare NEDC (New European Driving Cycle). În timp, vei simţi diferenţa.

With careful optimisation of aerodynamic details, it was possible to achieve a significant reduction in drag compared to the previous Focus:
• 4-door – CD = 0.274 (was 0.304), reduced by 10 per cent
• 5-door – CD = 0.295 (was 0.318), reduced by 7 per cent

The Chevy Eco Cruze utilizes an innovative automatic air shutter system that closes the grill vents at higher speeds to reduce drag by .016 – adding .5 mpg and helping push the Cruze to the magic 40 mpg number. The shutter system is fitted to sensors that measure changes in speed or temperature. If the temperature drops or the sensors measure sufficiently high speeds, the vents will be closed by electric motors, cutting down the amount of air that enters the engine bay. Why not simply keep the grill vents closed all the time? Because added airflow is needed to help cool the engine at lower speeds.

Cam complicat sistemul cu grilele adaptive. Senzori, motorase, clapete - o gramada de chestii care se pot strica. E loc de imbunatatiri in alta parte fara a mai fi nevoie de chestia asta.
Nu in ultimul rand mai adauga si un pic de greutate, ceea ce nu e deloc benefic pentru economia generala a eficientei.

Am adaugat o comparatie. Focus sedan cu carenaj si logan cu carenaj. Se vede perfect unde este eficient (bine, la focus mai exista si varianta cu esapament sub portbagaj, nu ca in imaginile de mai sus sub bancheta spate, copiat sau nu dupa vw passat).
