What is that thing you call "Dynamat", what is it used for primarily, and how thick it is?
From the attached picture it seams too thin for the purpose, the way it wraps over those uneven surfaces. You should try to have a look at some car model that already has its hood insulated, this should give you an idea what to do yourself. From what I was able to see, common practice is to fill with dampening material only those areas of the hood where there is only a single sheet of metal (not structural reinforcements). The question is also what do you want to achieve?! If you want to suppress the engine noise in the passenger cabin, damping the hood will not do you much good! First, you need to protect the dynamat, in a way or in other, from the heat of the engine. Dacia has a special sound insulator for the hood, maybe you can buy it from your dealer.
If you don' protect it, in time will fall from the hood because of the heat. Dynamat is not a product for hood or roof. QUOTE(ezee @ 11 Feb 2008, 11:37) All over the floor in front, all over the central tunnel and if you can on the firewall, under the dashboard |

There is lot of noise in cabin over 90 kms speed (Logan Diesel). My car came with a sound insulator installed, it was a cover of some foam kind of material but was loose and very light, also it is not sticking with hood. I am planning to install Dynamat Hoodliner over Dynamat xtreme in hood. I have no idea how to open carpet and dashboard area to install Dynamat, there are clips (round shape) used to stick carpet with floor, how to open that? Can you please guide me? |

Forget the hood, in fact, if the original insulation on the hood went loose - complain to the dealer/manufacturer! By damping just the hood you will muffle the engine noise mostly for those you pass by, not for you and your passengers
![]() And for the guidance, see this post in the "Problems" topic: http://www.daciaclub.ro/index.php?showtopi...233116&st=123 for Logan service manuals, in one of them you will find how to remove and refit the dashboard. And remember, by doing this yourself you probably risk your warranty. This post has been edited by g100sic: 11 Feb 2008, 14:55 |

By having a look at dashboard assembly, I am 100% sure that I am not going to touch that.
But still can look for other areas to cover. Also do you guys suggest to cover whole hood (as shown in pic attached) or just the area where hood insulation is provided? |

I am looking for some push button clips as marked in pic attached, used to hold heat insulator in hood and pipes/wires in engine cabin. They are also used to hold carpet and flooring (light gray colored).
can any one help me sending these, as they are not available as spare right now here in India. I have tried some local made ones but they arent fitting in to the hole. Attached thumbnail(s) clips.jpg ( Size: 540k ) Number of downloads: 428 |
