Logan AC malfunction,
Hi to you all,
I own Logan 1.6 made in 2004 (50000km). Since the beginning of this summer, I have a problem with the AC.
Symptoms are:
-When AC is turned on, immediately after the engine starts, AC can run for hours, without any problem, and then stop working (compressor switches off on his own). I cannot start it again, but after some time I can hear the compressor switching on and it can continuo working without any problem.
-When I drive for some time without AC (the engine is hot) and I wish to turn on the AC, it will not start working no matter what I do (no sound coming from AC compressor after switching the AC on). Then, eventually, after half an hour of driving, it will start working again..
-If I drive the car for some time with AC on and I stop for some reason, 5 min or so, after turning the engine on for the second time I will not be able to start the engine no matter what I do. However, if the break is longer (an hour or so – engine cools down a little) AC will start working again after I switch it on
Last week I went to authorized Dacia workshop (Belgrade Serbia). For two days, mechanics were trying to detect malfunction, checking the installation and connections, but they did not find a thing, since this AC problem does not occurs on regular basis.
If someone had similar experience please advice…..

Hi, It may be the cooling agent from the compressor - you may need to refill it.

It was refilled in the workshop, but that was not the case apparently.

Hi,
it may be from a problem with the a\c fan
may be it need to replaced or the sensor may need to be checked
I guess that as you said that the problem appear when the engine is hot
hope that you find the solution

cHeck if the engine cooling fan is working all right. It might prevernt the co,pressor clutch from engaging if it's not working.

Completely forgot about this, nevertheless ….
It was a stupid A/C switch;
It doesn’t look as small from the inside as from the outside.
After replacement it AC was working fine.
P.S.
Sold the car, bought fiat, thinking of coming back to Logan duster, until then….

There is only one AC switch in the entire car. That one.
However, if you do not have other issues like cooling agent quantity, fan problems, ...

Hi to all,
I have a Logan 1.6 2005 with 128.000km with AC.
The AC worked really perfectly last summer, I used the AC last time somewhere in October. Now, a few days ago, I wanted to start the AC as usual, by pressing the AC button, but the AC doesn't start, and the LED near the switch doesn't glow. It glows only as I am holding the switch pressed ( I tryed holding it pressed for 10 seconds, the compressor starts running, the motofan started, and it started venting cold air in the interior).
Has someone an idea what it can be?
How to "test" the switch" ?
