Hi all,

New to the car and the group. My 1.5Dci Diesel Logan makes wierd and strange noises when I turn off the engine.

Probably engine management control things, but not really consistant.

First are a couple of whirrs and clicks .... then a peircing (but not loud) high pitch sound that can vary in length from 1 second to say 15 seconds ...

Any ideas? Just curious is all ... Well impressed with my mota thus far ... the dogs dangly bits!! tongue.gif

Hare,

My MCV Diesel made similar strange noises when it was new.
Some suggested I had a bee in my bonnet, but in fact the hum that lasts a few seconds is vacuum in the brake servo leaking away through a sort of snifter valve.
Mine stopped making the sound as it became older.
There are other noises that come from the fuel pump and the exhaust cooling.
To be safe rather than sorry, ask you service engineer.
