I need roof bars for my Dacia Sandero I (imported into France in 2009), so it’s NOT a Stepway with “rails” (longitudinal bars). I can see that there are pre-drilled, threaded holes on the roof (8 in all of course), under the door seals. But I’m perplexed wacko.gif why the distance from the windscreen to the first (front) hole is about 18 cms[COLOR=red], yet about 57 cms[COLOR=red] from the last (rear) hole to the hatch door, which makes them look MUCH too far forward at the front and not enough space between the sets of holes to give suitable stability (for transporting long things).

Has anybody successfully used these holes on a Sandero I for roof bars please?

Or has anybody successfully used UNIVERSAL[COLOR=red] roof bars on a Sandero I ?

I live in France but may order some online, depending on any recommendations.
Thanks in advance for any advice you may have! smile.gif wink.gif

the holes are drilled where there is enough strength in the body to support the load, not for maximum leght of useable space, that's only done on LCVs. Also, the hole needs to be sealed by the door seal, you can't do it on the C pillar.
Fitting instructions are here

Thanks very much einstein1984 for your helpful reply smile.gif .

Your links were helpful too, particularly to find out that roof bars for Sandero 1 and EG Logan 1 are the same. As the original bars are very expensive (nearly 170€), this gives me more chances of finding second-hand ones smile.gif

Thanks again for your help einstein1984 smile.gif

Sorry for my late reply....I'm still looking for my roof bars (at a reasonable price, 170€ is just too much!). I'll post to this thread again, whenever I've bought some which fit my Sandero 1.

I'm really surprised not to be able to find secondhand bars easily in my area, for this old but ubiquitous model in France. Even breaker's yards haven't come up with the right bars yet sleep.gif
