This is the most likely candidate for my new camera.
The camera is intended for amateur use, shooting landscapes, macro photos, family things, playing with some manual settings, etc.
I have read a couple of reviews and they are good.
I'm interested in some user comments if somebody has a that camera or the S2 model.
Full Version: Canon PowerShot S3 IS
The main problem for me is purple fringing, which is pretty present.
And it has a manual focus a little annoying (you have to use 2 fingers from different hands to adjust manual the focus – you keep pushed a button near the objective and with the other hand to adjust the focal on navigation key)
And is a little bit noisy over ISO 200
But, overall, is a very good camera. Fast, good picture quality, nice zoom.

It is a Good Camera I have the Powershot A520 and like it I also have a Finepix 5500 it is super but to Big !!The camera for taking all over has to be the smaller Powershot (You can put it in your pocket)

and it has lots of settings for profies as well

in my eyes it is just the job for everyday use with Suuuuuuuuuuper results and at Dacia price

My current camera is a Olympus C-310, the new is one has be an improvement in more things than just the resolution. When going to parties and similar events I'm going to carry the old Olympus in my pocket. It does the job of photographing a bunch of people eating and drinking rather good
The whole idea is to buy a camera with a better resolution, zoom and more manual options and stay in a reasonable price level.
So far I think the S3 IS is going to do a good job.

Finally SONY DSC H5 was bought, it was a close call.

Now I need to get familiar with all the camera options. I'm waiting for some spare time during daylight to go out and play.
