I passed 7000km for 3 month, and I prefered next table for normal cruising:

Speed Table in km/h

[attachmentid=49975]

I change gear at 1500 - 2000 rpm, and extremly rare at 2500 rpm (for fast acceleration)

I cruise at 2000 rpm and 2500 rpm at highway when I drive at 110-120 km/h.

My engine fuel consumption is 4.3 l/100km at 90km/h at 2000rpm as is wrotten at prospect. At highway when speed is 115 km/h, consumptation is 5.5 l/100km.

At town Belgrade with havy traffic average consumptation is 6.7 l/100km by bord computer, but, when I buy fuel and make my calculations it is 5.8 l/100km

How do you use your engines? What is yout prectice, expirience...

What is maximum and recommended rpm for 1.5 DCI engine 48kW (65HP)?

What is maximum and recommended speed for 1.5 DCI engine 48kW (65HP)?

Can 1.5 DCI engine 48kW (65HP) rotate faster than 3000 rpm whithout engine damage? I am afraid to try.

I try different approach on gear changing but I found that the best solution for my engine is:
1-st gear - 2000 - 2300
2-nd gear - 2200 - 2500 in town 3000 out of the city
3-rd gear - 2500 in town 3000-3500 out of the city, same on 4th gear. PS only after the engine has reached the optimal temperature.

The maximum RPM for the engine limited to 4800rmp I don't remember exactly the value but It is around this.

I test this only once: in 2-nd gear I accelerate until I feel like the car is breaking itself smile.gif around 4800rmp.

The maximum speed give by Dacia is 155Km/h, but the recommended one is that one you feel safe.

don't be affraid to give your car a 3500 - 4000 RPM boost, it doesn't affect the engine one bit, in fact it helps clear the engine's coal deposits. By the way, you should change gears higher than 2000 RPM, it's better for the engine. When you want fast acceleration 3000 + RPM is the way to go (i know the engine sounds scary at 2500+ RPM, but don't be affraid, nothing will happen). Also, very important, after driving for a while in town (2000-3000 km), it's recomended that you go on a highway for at least 15-20 minutes driving constantly at about 3000 - 3500 RPM (it doesn't matter the gear, you can drive at 3000 RPM even with the 2nd gear, 3rd gear, etc).

PS: when climbing a hill, be sure you use 2000 or more RPMs, especially if you have more people in the car with you wink.gif
