Ford, which signed the deal on Tuesday, plans to publicly announce the transaction in New York at 8:00 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, said another source. The deal will also see Ford pay about 300 million pounds ($598 million) into Jaguar and Land Rovers' pension funds, according to unions. Ford declined to comment, adding "our first responsibility is to communicate with our employees." The sale had been expected at the start of this month, but it was delayed as the two firms discussed their future relationship, including technology sharing and Ford's provision of engines and body parts for the two brands. Tata, India's top vehicle maker, has been in talks with Ford since it was chosen as the frontrunner to buy Jaguar and Land Rover a few days into 2008. Tata is pursuing the deal to gain a substantial foothold outside India. But analysts have questioned how Tata will incorporate the luxury brands into its stable of sturdy trucks and functional passenger cars, including the Nano, the world's cheapest car which it unveiled in January. While Land Rover has generated three years of record sales with its iconic SUVs, the fit of Jaguar is far less clear. Ezac la asta ma gandeam si eu. Oare cum vor fi de acum review-urile despre Landy ale lui Clarckson de la Top Gear? Nu de asta dar, un ultra nationalist si ursuz pe deasupra sa laude o masina englezeasca dar a indienilor? Asta in cazul in care isi vor mentine standardele.

Care englezească? Că era americană!

Oricum, chestiile astea cu patriotismul sunt penibile, nu cred că mai există produse complexe pe piaţă care să fie fabricate într-o singură ţară de către oameni de aceiaşi naţionalitate şi cu materie primă din aceiaşi ţară.

Sper totusi sa nu se materializeze. Ar fi asa de pacat...

Gata cu pielea in interior. Altfel se vor inchina la ea. Oare in India se vinde Jaguar cu interior captusit cu piele de vaca?
Sincer, De Land Rover nu prea imi pasa. Insa Jaguar chiar imi placea ca marca si imi pare rau ca au ajuns e mana indienilor. Nici sub Ford nu au avut viata buna, insa cand auzi ca Jaguar este proprietate Tata Motors parca s-a mai dus un mit.

Bine ca sunt sperante pentru Aston Martin.

Exemple gasesti in China. Toate masinile chinezesti sunt sigur ca-s fabricate in China, de către chinezi şi cu materie primă din China.

Sunt curios daca or sa cumpere table de la Mittal Sidex, asa ca de la un inchinator la vaci la altul!!. Stiti gluma aia cu" Logan by mistake"?? Acum o sa fie "Jaguar by the bigest mistake"! Pacat, era o firma cu traditie. Cu Land Rover-ul au ceva in comun: Tata are acelasi nivel tehnologic pe care il avea Defender I in 1949!

Am aflat si ultimele noutati. Deja se preconizeaza noile modele : Land Rover Yamir (4x5) si Jaguar Bandhu Arpan cu motor ecologic de 1100 turbo...

Este un moment trist in istoria automobilului.

Aici nu vorbim de un cumparator de genul BMW, GM sau Toyota...
Nu. Producatorul celei mai ieftine si nenorocite masini din lume (recte Nano) a cumparat Jaguar. Nu stiu daca intelegeti implicatiile psihologice pe care le induce acest lucru clientilor traditionali si fanilor, in general.

Este trist si regretabil ca nu s-a gasit alta solutie. Life's a bitch and then you die.
